High School DxD - Episode 01

Episode – 01 Characters

Matsuda & Motohama – They are Hyoudou Issei's friends from mid-school, on graduation they decide to enroll in Kuou Academy because they just change from an all girls school to co-ed. The reason they want this is that there would be high population of women to men, so that they could fulfill their dream of having a harem.

Kiba Yuuto – Is extremely popular with all the girls, and because of this he is envied by Issei, Matsuda, and Motohama. Although it seems that he will play a larger role later on.

Rias Gremony – Is the President of the Occult Research Club, and another key character in the story. However for some deeper reason she has been keeping a close eye on Hyoudou Issei.

Hyoudou Issei – Is overtly perverted, and has some strange dream about being a harem king. Which if you ever watch Yu-Gi-Oh, the joke that the writer is making is quite apparent. Although after he dies he has a slight change of heart. It will be interesting how much he maturates over the course of the series.

Amano Yuuma – She is the girl that asks Issei out early in the episode, although you would have to ask what kind of respectable woman would date a known pervert. However the reason is later revealed.

Episode – 01 Summary

The interesting thing about this series is that it is a different spin on the harem genre because the hero is not so unwilling of having to deal with multiple women. Things get started with Issei and his friends explaining on why they decide to come to this school, that it was for the high population of women. Although ironical because they are so pervert none of the women there really want anything to do with them. However as the sun is setting he is approached by Amano Yuuma on the street bridge, and she asks him if he will go out with her.

Although uses Yuuma to brag to his friends Matsuda and Motohama that he has a girlfriend and they don't. Although for awhile the interaction between Yuuma and Issei seem very normal. Although before he goes on his first date with Yuuma he gets a strange card which he thinks is a bit shady, but he accepts with out much thought. While on the date with Yuuma everything seems particularly normal considering how perverted he is. However at the end of the date it turns out that Yuuma was a fallen angle, and she only got close because she need to kill him. Although as her parting words, she tell him if he must hate someone then hate god for giving him the Sacred Gear. In his last moments he makes wish to live, and at that moment Rias Gremony appears to resurrect him.

However the next moment he wakes up in his bed as if nothing ever happened. Then from there everything seems to get stranger and stranger because Matsuda & Motohama don't even remember that he had a girlfriend. Thing become even more disturbing when he finds out that he doesn't even have her number in his phone anymore. Although all this is happening Issei just can't accept it was nothing but a dream. However even more unexplainable things start happen when the sun sets. Where his sense start to expand where he can hear things in the distance that he shouldn't be able to, also he is able to see clearer in the dark. Although things turn for the worst when a second fallen angle appears to kill him. However he almost dies but he pass-out just as he see Rias Gremony appear to save him. Although things end with him naked with an equally naked Rias Gremony in bed with him.
