Log Horizon - ep05

Now with the threat to Serara concluded, the continue with exploring aspects of the world the find themselves in. First the revisit the issue of food and why all the stuff doesn't have any taste or comes out horribly burned. It turns out that you can make proper food as long as your cooking level is high enough and you actual make it from ingredients. This means that as long as Nyantan remains part of Shiroe's group the won't have to worry ever again about eating the tasteless food that this world has to offer.

Although the really issue that they explore is the role that the NPC play. That it seems as time has passes they are become more human, and less robotic as you would expect a NPC to act in a game. However the cause of this is still unknown but it will probable be explore in time. This also brings up the question of as the NPC become more human, then wouldn't that make where it is them that really don't belong. It would also mean that the manner in how you respond to them will have to change as well because they would no-longer be a soulless program.

Things end with the series foreshadowing what direction the series will be heading in next now that they are returning to Akihabara. Although Susukino was bad it could be that Akihabara is just as bad but it just hides it behind an appearance of false-peace. This is brought up when Shiroe reminces about the twins that he help out in the past. Although they join a guild he believe that they are better off now but as the story show, that really isn't so. The next arc seems like it's going to focus on how the weak are being taken advantage by the strong. The question become how will Shiroe is going to solve this problem.
