Shingeki no Kyojin - ep13

Although it has taken awhile, Eren does finally get around to doing his job of sealing the wall but quite a few lives were lost during his internal struggle. Then as hope has returned they have to protect Eren as he delivers to bolder to it's resting place. The proves to be more difficult as Eren closes in on the gate because the is nothing for their gear to hook on to. This mean to draw them a way from Eren they have to turn themselves into live bait. Then once the gate is sealed Eren is exhausted from transporting the bolder so they have to cut him out of the Titan but with the gate sealed all that is left to do is eliminate the Titan that are trapped with in the City. This is when the true elites show up when Ironically things are almost finished. That with their return clear the city is quickly done.

This leads to a few future problems for Eren because they might have use Eren to help seal the city, that doesn't change the fact that they still see him as much of a threat to them as the Titans. It might be that they see him as more of a threat because he is inside their walls while the rest of the Titans are outside. This leads them to question of what to do with him, and the fact that the answer to their problem to the Titans might be lying in his basement. Then to this end the need to assert his will and the degree he is will to follow through to achieve this goal. That once he hears this Eren express his unrelenting hatred for the Titans, that he wants to kill as many of them before he dies. Then to achieve this end he wishes to join the Recon Corps. This shear degree of hatred that he shows for the Titans impress one of the commanders for the Recon Corps, and he accepts his request. This ends to first season with the Defense of Trost complete and the implication that there are other like him trying to eliminate the rest of humanity. Although it isn't going to be a long wait before the start of the next season because things will start up again in the Summer of 2013.
