Now with this
second episode it seems like it is the second half of the
introduction into the series. One of the first things they go into
detail on is the nature of this ruin world and how it connects to the
real world that exists without magic. It appears that 16years ago
which according to the story is one year before each of Takashi's
group is born, there was a war between Ghost trailers and 15 other
magical groups. That the leader of the Ghost trailers Ryuusenji
Kazuma cast a massive spell in his final moments that who of
destroyed the world if it wasn't for the 15 other clans. They cast
another spell to counter Ryuusenji's spell which resulted in
splitting the world in two. That is the nature of these two world
that at one time they were whole but to prevent the spreed of damage
to the entire world it was contain with in this ruined world leaving
the other half untouched by Ryuusenji actions. This also leads into
the issue of the gift, that is was cause by a spell that cast in the
other world to prevent magic from being used on people that aren't
involved.
Now with the
workings of the world explained Shijou Momoka gives them a choice to
give up their magic and return to their previous lives or remain here
while learning more about magic. It is very similar to the question
that existed in the Matrix movies, do you which for the blue pill or
the red pill. In the end Takashi choosing to stay but he true motives
behind this choice is unclear. Did he make it of the desire to escape
his family, maybe out of his desire to further protect Miu, or maybe
he feels that Ghost trailers must be stop for their to be place for
him to return to. Which ever was the motivating factor in his
decision it causes Ida to choose to stay behind to support Takashi in
his decision. While Isogami stays behind because she doesn't want the
distance between herself and Takashi increasing further. That with
their decision to stay it leads them into join the school, and it
seems the first step to getting settled in is getting their class
decide. Since they are all beginners they will be put into class-C
and because of Miu's actions she is getting demoted to class-C as
well.
This goes into
class introduction, where the first step in becoming a mage is
obtaining control over your Ancestral Magic and you control it with
your aspect. The others had their aspect but it seems that Evasion
magic doesn't start with an aspect that is why Takashi doesn't have.
This is where he has Miu take Takashi to get his Aspect. It ends with
him not just getting any aspect from the manager of the armory. That
after Takashi explaining that he practiced kendo, that he would like
a katana. He gets handed what he ask for, but it happens to be a
sword that inscribed with a magical seal. The problem is that he
might lose an arm if the swords magic is in conflict with his own,
but the manager doesn't give him a chance to decline and attack him
to forcefully awaken takashi magic while activating the magical
swords magic as well. Thing turn out alright because he doesn't lose
an arm it just that he needs more training to effectively use the
sword. Now we might get back to the action next episode since
everyone is now settled into their new life.
