Zetsuen no Tempest - ep18

Now with Yoshino's secret out, people will have to come to grips with how this single truth changes everything. This single fact changes a lot of things for Samon, that he can not predict the direction that the future is going in. It almost as if Aika's very death disrupted the world's order, which would almost suggest that maybe the Tree of Exodus kill her and for some reason if just so happen to benefit the Tree of Genesis as well. Then there is how it has impacted Hakaze, with the realization that Yoshino's girlfriend die because of her. However Hakaze can't understand why he would even want to help her when by all rights he should hate her because she is responsible for Aika's death. Yoshino doesn't feel the same desire for revenge that Mahiro feel because he see it as being pointless. That nothing he does will bring Aika back, so instead he wants her death to have purpose.

This reveals to Hakaze the depths of Yoshino's pain, that because they kept their relationship a secret he wasn't even able to morn her passing. That this sets Hakaze down a new path, she can't forgive the Tree of Genesis for causing Yoshino to suffer. That if it turns out that it was responsible for her death, than she will stop at nothing to destroy it. Then when Junichiro comes to see them, the scene between Hakaze and Junichiro clearly defines her intentions toward the tree. Then as Hakaze is preparing to take action, she parts from Yoshino for a time. Then during this parting Yoshino has made his decision to tell Mahiro the truth, what ever the consequences of this action may be.

It seems that the nature in which Hakaze intends is by making Megumu stronger. That in pushing him to his limits every-time he is going to destroy on of the trees, he will hopefully get stronger after every battle. Then towards this end we have a potential idea about the truth identity behind the Tree of Genesis. It Yamamoto believes from the various legends about snakes and dragons that the trees resemble. Leads her to believe that the tree of genesis didn't create anything, that it is an alien weapon designed to wipe away all traces of humanity off the planet. That is kind of extreme to go from magic to god, then to say that the god you worship is an alien weapon intending to exterminate you. Then if it an alien weapon where are the aliens that put it there.
