Initially it
seemed like the purpose of the battle with Miku would be to reach a
conclusion with her before going off to save Touka. However that
wasn't Kurumi's intent because what she desired was Miku's
non-involvement so that she wouldn't have to watch her back while
dealing with the DEM. This leads the Kurumi giving Shido the
opportunity to be alone with Miku so that he can convince her to back
off while they are facing the DEM. In the end Shido takes things a
step further by trying to get Miku to at least help him save Touka.
That in doing this we get a glimpse into the true Miku and her
pathological fear of humanity, that question is what happen to Miku
to make her feel this way. Ultimately only thing Shido was able to do
was to sew in the seed of doubt, but this allow him to get Kurumi's
desired result even if Miku didn't promise him anything.
This leads us
into the battle with the DEM and Touka's situation. It seem that they
want Touka to cause chaos, that they are displease with the peace
that exists. Which make sense DEM is an arms merchant, that if the
threat of Spirits disappears than they are out of business. That
during their interrogation it seems that the best way to do this is
by killing Shido in-front of her. Which takes to the battle with the
DEM where they make the first move, but Kurumi quick response by
sending in her duplicates. Although it is not long after this that
they are separated by the appearance of Mana.
Now that Mana has
appeared and add that to the fact that she is always trying to kill
Kurumi she takes her leave. However it seems that Kurumi has her own
interest with DEM that she might of only helped him out because their
interests alined. Now with Kurumi gone Mana is his acting bodyguard,
which allow him to reconnect with Kotori which has been freed of
Miku's power. In the end Mana isn't around for long with the return
of Jessica Bailey using the Scarlet Licorice. This force Shido to
march forward on his own, with leads him to being attack by the DEM
as soon as he enters the building. Which results in him summoning
Sandalphon once again, now that he is able to protect himself will he
be able to save Touka. The question remains what parts will Origami
and Miku play in this battle. It seems that Origami will be entering
the battle soon, and Miku might just join in just to see the nature
of Shido and Touka's relationship.
