Now that they
have gotten past the introduction phase of the story, they are now
revealing the true nature of the plot. That they real point of the
story is to help Ringo smile once again, although it doesn't really
get to be a focal point until the end. However they hint at this
issue when Kousaku see Ringo trying to pull the corners of her mouth
into a smile. That this is his first hint that something was quite
right with her. Then the plot leads into events that diverge from
this main issue with the fields being attack. That initially because
of Yoshida's account they believe it to be an orphan child has done
it out of hunger. Although it doesn't take long for Minori and
Kousaku to dismiss this idea and believe that it was done by a
monkey.
This leads them
into various plans to deal with the problem from electrical fence
which are practical but there isn't the money to implement it. Then
the ridiculous from Yoshida with her philosophical argument that
monkeys are people too, which equates to doing nothing. Ultimately
they go with Kei plan which is to hunt it, however the way he phrase
it make it seem like he is going kill the monkey. How it turns out to
be as ridiculous as the other plans because he gets an anime-otoku to
knock the monkey out with his blowgun made from his anime posters.
Although once they capture the monkey the issue become what to do
with it, but it seems that Yoshida has already thought about that and
she knows of a zoo that will take him in. This also brings back to
the him point that with this resolution Ringo hasn't smiled, that now
that Kousaku thinks about it he hasn't seen her smile once since
being here.
Now Kousaku is
seriously concern about Ringo and wants to talk with Minori and Kei
on what they can do for her. Although Minori misunderstand the nature
of this talk because she has her mind in the gutter. Which make
things quite awkward when Kei come by later seeing the redecoration
job that Minori did to her room. Then it just makes her more
depressed when Kousaku want to talk about Ringo. However they take
him serious once he explains the issue, that they need help her smile
even-though it might be a selfish wish. Then through this desire to
see her smile does Kousaku learn that Ringo has lost the ability to
make any-other expression, this is probably part of that she entire
retirement. In think of a way to help Ringo he has a dream, that this
dream gives him an idea of how to help Ringo by showing her the dead
field that they inherited from their senpai's. That this field in a
way represent the current Ringo, however through the efforts of
their club they have managed to bring some of the field back to life.
That maybe by working in this field Ringo herself will find a way to
be reborn and learn how to smile once again. It seem this is where
our story truly begins.
