Kono Naka ni Hitori, Imouto ga iru - ep05



The mystery continues when a new little sister calling, and she seems to implies that she is the same one from his fathers funeral. This makes Shougo's life a bit more difficult because of the time that she is calling. Since she is calling early in the morning he has to get up even early to wait for her call, this ends up cause problems for him since he isn't a morning person. One day when he is about at the end of his rope, he decide to catch up on some of his sleep in the infirmary. However interestingly enough it almost seems like Sagara Mei was waiting for him to try to sleep in the infirmary. This leads to her offering Shougo a special place to sleep, but in return he has to come to her cafe.

In the end Shougo agrees because he believe that it will be easier to sleep if he is in a place that no-one knows where he is. Once he enters into Mei's special room, Shougo is almost wishing that he stayed with the Infirmary. Although it looks like a storage room, in the back corner behind a bookcase there is a futon. Which it appears that Sagara Mei uses everyday, and her offer implies that he is going have to sleep next to her on the Futon. Which leads to him believing he isn't going to get much sleep. Although he still carries through with his end of the deal by later going to Mei's Sister Cafe.

Once School is out Shougo head to Mei's Cafe but since Miyabi is coming with him he has to wait until she finishes her swimming pratice. Once they arrive Shougo is uncertain on how he should feel being called Onii-san (Big Brother) considering he has a hidden Imouto (Little Sister), but Miyabi is overjoyed about someone calling Onee-san (Big Sister). Later Shougo get a bit confused over the fact that the menu sound a little strange, so to play it safe he orders love omelet because it sound the most normal. It turns out he made a bad choice since it is made with too much salt, and he suppose to eat it restfully like a big brother would try protect his sister feelings. Although when Mei questions him on how it is going and if the moe has killed him. She is extremely disappointed that it hasn't, and this is when she explains the theme is that to have a little sister as your wife is a forbidden fruit. Although this statement hits a bit too close to home for Shougo.

The next day he decide to sleep again at Mei's special place, when he opens the door he is shock to see Mei dressed as a Cat-Eared Maid. Which result in him coldly shutting the door and leaving. Mei quickly calls out to him, and he come back. This leads to Shougo finding out why she is running a cafe. It appears that she is adopted, that the reason her father adopted her was that he wanted to explains her unusual skill at math. However when he move to America to be a professor, she remind behind with her mother. It turns out that her mother ran a cafe out of the same shop that she owns, but when she died. Mei had to move to America to be with her father, and her mothers shop had to be sold. However later when she published a paper, she earned enough money from that to move back to Japan and buy back the shop that carried so many treasure memories for her.

However when Shougo mention wants to see this paper, Mei begins to search the room for it. Although in the process she knocks over some books to reveal the same model of cell phone that Konoe has. Then to Shougo this means that Mei is currently the most like the person that has been calling him. Once he gets over his shock he goes to talk with Mister X, and explains the situation, that it is possible that she is his little sister even though she is a year ahead of him since she really doesn't know when she was born. Nothing get resolved when a reporter interrupts their conversation question Shougo if he know whether or not Mei is really going to close her shop down and head back to America. Then the episode ends with this shocking bit of news.
