Things are approaching the conclusion of the arc, the question is how will Godou defeat Athena once she returns to her true form. It seems that as Mariya is trying to reach the sealing location, Amakasu suggest that the prophecy is coming to pass. Then with him referring to the starless sky, it seems that they will not be able to go any further by car. The force them to go the rest of the way on foot. Then once Mariya reach the location she contacts Godou who is traveling with Erika to head off Athena but Godou doubt he will make there in time. Once he is in contact with Mariya, she tells him that Athena is coming and at this point sealing it wouldn't really help. Once he hears this he tells her to run, however when she refuses to do so. Godou tells her there is one more thing she can do, that when she is in trouble think about him as hard as she can. That if she does this he will be there to protect her.

Then not much later Athena arrives, and it looks that Mariya is waiting for her. However she tries to put up a barrier to keep Athena from getting the Gorgoneion, it proves to be futile. Once Mariya's barrier is down, she is able to pull Gorgoneion from Mariya's grasp. This leads to Athena return to her true form, then once Mariya see this, see does as Godou asked and with all of her heart wish for Godou to be there. Although at first it doesn't look like it worked, but just as Mariya is about to fall collapse Godou appears.

Before Godou is willing to fight Athena, he ask her one last time to leave. It seems that she is unwilling to do so because Athena wants to test out her power since she has once again return to her true form. Then with no choice left, he fight Athena using the golden-swords. Since now he can use it because he knows Athena past. It seems at first that he is losing but it is only a ploy to force Athena to summon her snakes so he can get rid of them. Then from this point on it seems that he is in complete control of the fight, however once he use the sword to cut through her divinity. Then with that last strike, Athena is weakened by not defeated.

Although since she is beaten yet and Godou used up his best weapon, things are going to be a bit difficult for him. Things become even worst when he realize that Athena is aware of his last tromp card he has to play, the power of the horse. This power will summon the sun and blow away the darkness, although if she can stand against she will win. Godou seeing that there is no point in hiding it any-longer Summons it, but it seems that he was expecting that she would try and block it. Athena realize she has fallen into a trap when Godou holds out his hand a catches Erika's spear. This leads to her defeat because she cant move, which means that she is unable to evade the spear when he throws it. Then in her defeat she expect him to finish her off, but tells her he won't because all he wanted was for her to leave. Then once Athena is gone Erika is pissed at him because she set everything up so that he could steal another gods authority. The question remains was Godou decision the right one or will it just come back to haunt him.
