Episode – 04 characters
Matsuda & Motohama – They are Hyoudou Issei's friends from mid-school, on graduation they decide to enroll in Kuou Academy because they just change from an all girls school to co-ed. The reason they want this is that there would be high population of women to men, so that they could fulfill their dream of having a harem.
Kiba Yuuto – Is extremely popular with all the girls, and because of this he is envied by Issei, Matsuda, and Motohama. Although it seems that he will play a larger role later on.
Rias Gremony – Is the President of the Occult Research Club, and another key character in the story. However for some deeper reason she has been keeping a close eye on Hyoudou Issei.
Hyoudou Issei – Is overtly perverted, and has some strange dream about being a harem king. Which if you ever watch Yu-Gi-Oh, the joke that the writer is making is quite apparent. Although after he dies he has a slight change of heart. It will be interesting how much he maturates over the course of the series.
Amano Yuuma – She is the girl that asks Issei out early in the episode, although you would have to ask what kind of respectable woman would date a known pervert. However the reason is later revealed.
Souna – There isn't much that we know about her other than she is close to Rias Gremony or at least the gremony family.
Himejima Akeno – She is the Vice-president of the Occult Research Club, and her personality is a refection of the Yamato Nadeshiko “Ideal Japanese Woman”. Although other than this not much is revealed.
Toujo Koneko – First year student at this part of the Occult Research Club, and is classified as a loli character that is popular with men and woman.
Dounashiki – He is the second fallen angle that Issei ran into in the first episode, since they name him. It is likely that he will be making a second appearance.
Ashia Argento – She is a nun that has recently moved into the city that Issei lives in, but the strange thing is that, the only church in town doesn't have a Priest so no-one see a point in going there. Other than this brief introduction not much more is given out about her.
Freed Serzen – Is the Priest that works for the strange church in town, although he is a very violent person. That doesn't seek so save the soul of the people that make contracts with devils but seeks to kill them before they can make them. It appears that the reason the priest is so strange is that he works for the fallen angles.
Mystel – Is another one of the fallen and nothing more in-depth was given.
Episode – 04 Summary
In the aftermath of the last fight, Issei is getting treated by Rias although she is unable to heal him completely because of the degree of the beating he receive. This leads to her once again explaining that he needs to be more careful and he will probably never see Ashia ever again. Although this is a bit ironic since the very next day he see Ashia again. This leads to him have Ashia hang-out with him, however it leads to her explaining why she was with that strange priest. Original she uses to live at church until one day she found a dieing puppy and she prayed as hard as she could. This resulted in her healing the puppy, the priest witness this and had her serve the church by going around healing people. Until one day she found a dieing man and she healed him, but because he was a devil she was kick out of the church. That is how she end up having to work for Freed. Although because of what happen she no-longer has a home again.
Ashia then tells Issei about her dream of having friends, but doesn't believe that it will happen because she is being test by the lord for all of her previous misdeeds. Although Issei doesn't believe this because aren't they already friends. Hearing this makes Ashia overjoyed but this touching moment is broken up by Yuuma, which Ashia knows her by the name Reinare. It turns out that she has come for Ashia, because they want her sacred gear that allows her to heal others. Although Issei tires to protect her in the end he fails. This ends with Ashia having to sacrifice herself to save Issei. Which she does by agreeing to go with Yuuma in exchange for her sparing Issei life. Which you wouldn't think that she would but she does. This leaves Issei to go back to Rias to have her and his fellow devil try and save Ashia.
Although things don't turn out the way he expects because Rias is upset for him meeting up with Ashia again. This leads to her stating that there is nothing that he can do and that he should leave her to her fate. After this she leaves with Akeno, after explaining to him what is special power is that is promotion that he can become any piece on the board that he should think about what this means. This leads to him going to the church anyway to help Ashia. This causes Kiba and Koneko to follow him because they were tolled to keep an eye on him. When they get to the church it is found out that the fallen angles are doing a ritual to take Ashia sacred gear but in doing so they will end up killing her. When entering the church they are stopped by Freed. Although Kiba fights him and cause him to run away by using his devil sword to feed on the holy energy from freed making so that he can't fight back. Things end with Issei seeing that the fallen angles have finished the ritual and now Ashia is dead.
