The battle
continues with everyone fighting their own personal battle, but the
main focus is on Shido and his struggle to reach Touka. Although he
has a had a certain measure of success but when he is finally
overwhelmed it is Miku that comes to his aid bring the spirits she
capture from Shido with her. This leads to Shido to continue his
journey alone with Miku while she has the spirits that she brought
with her focus on the battle outside. Now as they move forward
together Miku tries to deny that she is here to help Shido, that she
is only here to add Touka to her collection. However it clear that
she there because of Shido. The reason being is that he is a
contradiction of everything she believe.
Then as they
continue their journey together Miku can't avoid talking to Shido,
which also means she has to face his question on why she treats
people the way that she does. Eventually Shido gets fed-up with her
superiority routine and brings up the point that unlike the others
that were spirits from the beginning she was at one time human but
was made into a spirit by the noise. This leads into Miku's
back-story how she was an Idol named Yoimachi Tsukino, and how she
loved singing for her fans. However that all change when her manager
wanted her to be nice to this one TV producer, and she refused. This
caused a false story about her getting printed that ruined her image,
which leaded her fans abandoning her. That she associates men being
responsible for everything that she lost, which is also why she can't
understand why Shido is willing to throw his life away for Touka.
Then as Shido
and Miku are approaching Touka location Mana has a fight of her own
where she has to deal with Jessica Bailey. Although it isn't long
until it clear that Jessica's machine is too much for her since it
has driven her insane. That this madness cause her to attack Mana
with abandon not caring about who gets in her way. This gets much
worse with Ellen entering the fight, and as Mana is getting
overwhelmed Origami pays back Mana for helping her by keeping Ellen
occupied so that Mana can face Jessica alone. However it isn't long
before Origami is overwhelmed by Ellen but she is prevent from
dealing the final blow to Origami because Isaac has recalled her.
The reason we
find out later is because Shido has reached Touka, but their reunion
isn't joyous one for very long. That is because Isaac is being a jerk
by acting like he is freeing her just to trap her in another cage.
Then suggest since Shido has the power why doesn't he just free her,
it doesn't take long for this to turn sour because Ellen stab Shido
in the back as he is trying to free Touka. Now as Shido has fallen
Touka tries everything she can to try and reach him but it seems
everything is futile. This drives Touka into a corner giving Isaac
what he wanted all along to drive Touka emotions into the negative.
That when this happens we see why it is such a bad thing and why
Kotori was always concerned over the spirits emotions when they were
unhappy. The question is what is going to happen now that Touka has
gone off the deep end will she even care about Shido anymore or will
she seek to destroy everyone that tried to harm him. This also
suggest that the alone able of bring Touka back is Shido.
