Now with things in motion, there is a bit of an explanation on how the Recon Corp functions. The first point is that inside the formation the main goal is to avoid the Titans not confront them, to achieve this they have set up a smoke signal system. Where people on the outside edge of the formation sees a Titan the fire a red round, this travels in a ripple effect back to the commander where he fires a green ground in the direction that the formation is going to be redirect towards. This is done to effectively communicate the location of the Titan. Although there are some blind spots in the plan because some titans are hidden in a way where the can get inside the formation before they can be spotted and avoided. These are the ones they are forced to engage so they don't destroy the formation. Although lastly there is a yellow round that is fire when heavy casualties have accrued and the formation can't be maintained. This is a lot like a traffic light, red means stop and green means go.

Then once the system is explained it doesn't take thing very long to start going south. This leads to the breaking of the formation when the rear is ambushed by a group of Titan that is being lead by a female Titan. Then once Armin encounters this Titan he isn't killed or eaten because it is looking for something. This is when he realize that this Titan is like Eren, and this must mean that this is why they were attack because they wanted to find him. That upon meeting up with Reiner and Jean they share information on where they believe that Eren would be, it clear that the false information was given out to find if there was a traitor among them. Although when the engage this Titan they are just trying to slow it down. However during this battle there is something odd about Reiner when he was capture by this Titan. It clear look like he was killed but he returns smoking in a similar way like Eren, this seems to suggest that Reiner might be a traitor. Although he might of just gotten close to the titan to tell it where Eren might be. It is unlikely that they will be speeding up the plot anytime soon.
