Isanami – She is the sole survivor of the Izumo shrine, also it appears that she has some strange power that she doesn't even know that she has. Another thing to point out is that her name is vary similar to the goddess in the Japanese creation myth. It wouldn't surprise me if they have her end of being the reincarnation of Izanami.

Kirigakure Saizou – He is the other real major character in this story. Also from the way he act, it like he has a great many secrets to hide. Like how he says that he is a samurai while in fact he is an Iga ninja. It also appears that he has some sort of connection with Isanami by how he is able to calm her down. There is also his unexplained hatred for feudal lords.

Sarutobi Sasuke – He is a Koga Ninja, and this is what leads to the conflict between him and Saizou because in Japanese his the Koga and Iga ninja's have a long standing rivalery. It also seems that for some reason the koga ninja's under his command are surving Sanada Yukimura.

Sanada Yukimura – His is Lord of Ueda Castle, it also appears that he is renown for his intelligence and integrity. Also it seem that he is seeking to draw ten great warrior to his side to equal his equal great fingers, before he can go to war.

Rokurou – He is a mysterious figure that is helping Yukimura in his ambition. Although it appears that it will be awhile before we learn more about him.

Ana – She is a childhood friend of Saizou, although he dislikes how clingy she is. Further more Isanami doesn't much care for her because she feels that she is going to take Saizou away from her. Also she is now working for Yukimura after trying to kill him and failing.

Hattori Hanzou – Is the one that burned down the Izumo shrine, and is working for Tokogawa Ieyasu. Although we don't know at this point what part he will play, even though he is a renown historical figure. However the one thing we do know is that he will be back for Isanami.

Kakei Juuzou – Is a Samurai in service to Yukimura, and he specialize in juujitsu (fighting with guns). He is also extremely conservative and believes that Isanami's behavior towards Saizou is highly inappropriate. That it would only be acceptable if they were married.

Yuri Kamanosuke – Is a bandit that is encountered on their way to Izumo, although he is not really interested in stealing. The thing he wants the most is to find someone the kill, because only on the edge of life and death does he truly feel alive.

Date Masamune – Is the ruler of Oushuu, and is an ally of Tokugawa Ieyasu. He is searching for kushi-mitama which are fragments of a god's soul. That he believes if he gets them all he will became a god and this is the reason he is after Isanami.

Miyoshi Seikai Nyuudou – He is apparently the brother of Isanami, although they are not related by blood. It is just the fact that they are both orphans what where taken in by the head priest, also he is the one that found Isanami at the entrance to the temple. Also the only reason he is still alive is that he left on a journey to become a monk, and now believes that Shinto and Buddhism are the same.

Mochizuki Benmaru – He is just a kid but Yukimura made him one of his brave ten, but original he was named Mochizuki Rokurou but Yukimura didn't like having two Rokurou so he gave him the name Benmaru. He specializes in explosives and traps, which is why he was testing people so that he could find someone strong to serve. It just so happens that Yukimura is the only one that passed.

Ishida Mitsunari – is a feudal lord like yukimura, but since he has been given a name he will probably play a larger part later.

Naoe Hanegetsu – is another feudal lord like Yukimura, that we will learn more about the rule he will play later on in the series.

Tokugawa Ieyasu – Is the shogun, also he is referred to as a Tanuki. Which in Japanese folklore are know to be trickster. Although a lot of accusation are also place in the series that he is incompetent.

Episode – 07 Summary

Things start off with Yukimura getting ready to head-off to his meeting with the other feudal lords, but before he heads off he decide on who to bring with him. He decides that it is best to bring a smaller group then go walking in with a army, which is why he brings Saizou, Rokurou, and Isanami. Although it appears that his real reason for bring Isanami with him is because interesting things always happen around her. Also considering that Date Masamune is also going to be at this meeting I think that he also brought Isanami to antagonize Masamune into starting something.

Along the way to this meeting they stop at a local town, where they end up meeting this boy. This boy tells them that there are some problems with the road ahead that if they take this alternate path they will get there just fine. Then as they are leaving Saizou gets a little bit suspicious of the boy since there is smell of gunpowder coming from him but he ultimately ignores his suspicions. Later this prove to be a mistake when they end up walking into a trap on the very road that the boy told them to walk down.

Things start going down hill when an explosion gets set-off startling Rokurou's horse, cause it to run off with Rokurou still on it. The situation get worse when a row of bamboo shoots appear in the very direction that his horse is charging but he is saved by Saizou quick action of destroying the trap. The next trap is triggered, which cause a land slide of boulder to almost crushs Yukimura, but he is saved by the sudden appearance of Isanami's brother Seikai. Which then leads to Yukimura's horse getting startled, which then shorty after a net appears triping the horse cause it to throw yukimura. Although he is saved by Rokurou catching him before he could completely fall into a pit lined with bamboo shoots. The last trap almost blows up Saizou and Isanami but they are saved by the sudden appearance of Kamanosuke.

Once this is all over, the boy that they ran into earlier appears and announce that he is the one that set-off all the traps here and he want to serve Yukimura. The reason he tricked them was that he has been testing various people that come through the area to find someone strong enough for him to serve because he doesn't want to work for anyone that is weak. It just so happens that Yukimura's group is the only one that has ever pass his test. Yukimura aggrees to take him one with one condition that he must wait here for them to return. Then with that matter settle he address the matter of Seikai and Kamanosuke disobedience, because he intends to tell them to head-back. However he feels that they still wouldn't listen to him so they might as well come along.

Then as Yukimura heads to the meeting with Rokurou, he tells Saizou to stay behind and keep the others out of trouble. Then as Yukimura arrives he meets with Mitsunari and Hanegetsu that they feel that the tanuki (Ieyasu) is up to no good. That he has some greater goal in mind by calling this meeting. That is proven to a degree a bit latter on, when Masamune challenges Yukimura to a fight. Although he agrees but says that he will only fight with his fan. During the fight Yukimura may act like a fool but it is a deception to get Masamune where he wants him so that he can throw his sword at Ieyasu, where it almost kills him. Although after the meeting Ieyasu sends him a message that implies that he is going to have Yukimura commit Harakiri, for what happen at the meeting. Things end with Yukimura's making a quick get away just as Ieyasu realize Yukimura is making a run for it.
