They do a long introduction on why
humanity did so poorly defending Trost from the Titans. It seems that
the Elite Recon Corp are the strongest force available to humanity
but they leave the morning before the Titan attack. This makes the
defense critically weaken and ill prepared to defend against the
onslaught the the Titans present them with. Although in the
explanation on why they were pushed back to the second wall they also
explain to a small degree what happen to Eren while he was resting
inside the Titan's stomach. The things he saw inside the Titan's
belly was a very pictures view of hell, while he sat there watching
others die. The through this pain and suffering he decide that the
same wasn't going to happen to him. This is when he transform and
through this transformation he tears the Titan apart from the inside.
Then through the injustice he felt inside the Titan leads him into
madness where it leads him on his rampage where he destroyed every
Titan he came across until he is found by Mikasa.
Although he wakes surrounded by his
fellow soldiers all clearly intending to kill him. That in this dire
situation he is trying to figure out how he got here and why they are
intending to execute him. It is unfortunate that the on that is
trying to determine his fate is the same coward that ran from his
post at the base to save his own skin. That through he paranoia he
believe that Eren is a Titan that has taken human form. However it
seems that Mikasa doesn't care what the truth is a will kill anyone
that tries to kill Eren now that she has just gotten him back. While
Armin see that they have all been consumed by their fears and they
have no intentions of listening to anyone because they have already
past judgment on Eren. That it is only when humanity opens fire on
the three of them does Eren remember what happened to him and why he
was able to become a Titan. That it is something that his father did
to him. That in remembering this he recalls what he needs to do to
transform, however he is too weak to fully transform but it is enough
to protect Mikasa and Armin. Things end with the three of them safe
for now but with things far from over.
