The emphasis this time around is
setting up the final episode. It clear from the start of the trip
that Eita is trying too hard. Although really it doesn't seem to
matter all that much when they are at the beach because the others
are more interested in playing around. This is understandable in
Hime's case since because of her family she never had a chance to go
to the ocean. However it seems that Masuzu has a plan for when lunch
comes around, that after lunch Masuzu wants to split a watermelon. It
turns out that Eita is the first on up, however she wants it done in
an unconventional way. Masuzu didn't bring a stick to break it with
so Eita is going to have to use his head to break it. In the end it
seem that the watermelon was just a ploy to have Eita jump into her
arms. Then because Eita followed Masuzu advice this leads to him
getting punished by the others.
Then once Eita serves his punishment
they return to the beach house to prepare dinner. Then as they split
up do their separate tasks, things end up going in an interesting
direction. That with Chiwa and Hime buy some vegetables, and Eita
changing some light-bulbs outside the kitchen it seems that Ai is
left alone with Masuzu. That as they are peeling the vegetables, Ai
brings up the fact indirectly that she believes that she start to
date Eita because she want people to stop asking her out. That if
this is true, then she might not be able to forgive her. Masuzu
dodges Ai's question by “accidental” peeling to much of the
vegetable off. Although it is interesting to see that Eita is shocked
over the fact of over hearing from Ai about what lead Masuzu to start
her fake boyfriend plan. The question is what is he more shocked
about that Ai could know the truth or it is more harsh hearing it
from someone else.
This leads Masuzu to create a new plan
because it's becoming less likely that the others belief her lie.
What she comes up with is that Eita must kiss her in-front of
everyone just as they are turning in for the night. Although Eita is
against this idea because it will turn his life into a blood-bath.
That because of this fact is the only reason that Masuzu is giving
him the choice. Then with this decision weighing on his shoulders he
can't focus on the game they are playing. Then just as Eita is about
to pull the plan off, it seems the others have something plan as
well. It seems that sometime during the day they manage to pick a
phone-strap as a symbol as being part of the club. That in a similar
way how their school uniform defines that they belong to a particular
school, this will define their connection to their club. That because
of this interference Eita lost his opportunity, although it seems
that Masuzu isn't too upset about this fact. It seems that Masuzu
believes that she will lose tomorrow competition and with this in
mind she intendeds to free Eita from his obligation. Also it seem to
a degree is the honest affection from the other has move her, and it
seems that she feels bad about the fact that she took Eita from
Chiwa.
Then the next day as everyone else is
preparing to go to the competition, Masuzu is hold up in her room.
It's almost as if she can't even bare the thought of facing them.
Then as Eita is out for a walk before the competition, he has an
unfortunate run-in with Mana. That it is through their conversation
that Eita learn a bit about why Masuzu is the way she is, how her
father force her to act a certain way so that she would be his ideal
daughter. That somewhere alone the way Masuzu lost the ability to
discern who was her true self. This leaded to her snapping and which
would ultimately cause her to distance herself from her father by
returning to Japan. This leads Eita to a conclusion that Masuzu
needed someone to existed in her world of lies. That she is still
lost within herself and he might be her only salvation, with this
thought in mind he rush to where the competition is going to be held.
The question is what will he do once he gets there.
