Aldnoah Zero - ep18

It seems that things weren't as focus on Slaine as they were portrayed as being although he still plays a major part. Things start out with Slaine having to justify his action in this duel which the other knight end up accepting although they don't like it. Then things quickly shift back towards Inaho and him dealing with the next orbital knight. However how it is done is interesting since he isn't directly involved. That his job is relay the coordinates back to the Deucalion so that they can target the enemy from over the horizon. The enemy was easy enough to deal with but there was a bit a drama going on with Inko questioning Inaho's loyalties because she saw him with Rayet releasing the prisioner. That it is only later that he is able to restore her trust in him by informing her of he didn't want to involve her in what he was doing.

This leads into the next major battle the duel between Slaine and Marylcian. It is interesting how in the beginning it seems very one side with Marylcian dominating over Slaine while all he seems to do is run away. Until Slaine lures Marylcain into a trap where he can remove his enemies advantage which allows for Slaine to easily finish him off. This also seems to point toward Slaine's greatest weakness which seems to be that Slaine can only win when he can lay a traps in advance. What interest is that Inaho was able to see the battle all the way from earth. It seems that things are progressing toward a future conflict between the two. One of the things that has complicated matters is Asseylum waking up, while at the same time the fake princess declaring her marriage to Slaine. The question is what will happen now that the status qua is broken.

Juuou Mujin no Fafnir - ep05

Things return to when Tear is trying to materialize her weapon and as expected she turns herself into dragon because she so believes that she is one. This cause problems because she loses her sense of self and is no-long aware of what she is doing. This forces Lisa and Yuu to do the only thing that the can do. That is to forcefully dismissing Tears Materialization by defeating the dragon. However this puts a strain on Tear where she needs to sleep off the fatigue.

Then while Yuu is putting Tear in bed he has a run in with Honoka the other D that arrived here with Tear. This lead to Yuu developing a bit a friendship with her as he supports her in her attempts to fit in. Although it is interesting that after this meeting he gets a call from his former boss Loki informing him about Kili is coming to retrieve Tear. It seems likely that Honoka is Kiri since it would be easy to infiltrate the island since she is a D. That only time with tell if the assumition is true.

This leads to focus of the rest of the episode why Yuu is trying to give Tear a reason to choose to be human. Since to Yuu Kiri represents what happens when a D choose to be a dragon, while everyone at the academy represents what happens when a D chooses to remain a human. That Yuu believe that if Tear meets Kiri now it is possible that she would choose to go with her. This is why them playing on the beach is so important because it represents to Tear what it would mean to choose to be human. Since it is clear it is almost impossible to convince her that she is but instead place an emphasis on choice. Then what she believe she is become irrelevant and the real issue become what she will choose. However it seems that it won't be long before she is force to choose.

Aldnoah Zero - ep17

This time things focus in on Inaho's side of things, with the interrogation of Mazuurek. It seems that he wasn't kill last time as we were lead to believe but instead was captured. Although it isn't much of an interrogation because Inaho is just using him to verifies what he believe to be true. That in the end he reveals far more to Mazuurek than he receives. However it earns him a valuable ally since Mazuurek isn't interested in conquering earth as the others. There is also the fact that if Inaho is speaking the truth about Asseylum than it is a more pressing concern than completing the conquest of earth. This leads us to Inaho aiding Mazuurek in his escape attempt but the question is how will he seek to find the truth out about Slaine. Will he pursue it through Marylcian that wishs to take Slaine's position for himself or will he try to befriend Slaine by supporting him against Marylcian. It seems that Slaine's greatest problem right now is the rest of the martian society, since he really hasn't try to make any allies. That next time it look like it will focus in on Slaine dealing with his oppistion from both Marylcian and Lemrina.

Juuou Mujin no Fafnir - ep04

Now that the situation with Iris is resolved things move onto the next arc as we are introduced to a new character. It appears that Yuu has a bit of a past with this person. Although this connect proved to be useful when Tear goes wild as Mitsuki is introducing her but it also complicates Yuu's life. The reason being is that for some reason she believe she is a dragon and she is to be Yuu's wife. This make things difficult for Yuu since she insists on being by his side at all times. Then because of this mentality it leads her to accepting Mitsuki because she is Yuu's sister.

However because of this it causes Iris to become jealous of Tear. Which leads to her going home with Yuu and Mitsuki under the guise of trying to help Tear adjust to how things work here. Although it seems that Tear will have no problem keeping despite how young she is and for doing a good job she wants to take a bath with Yuu. This leads to Mitsuki agreeing to the request as long as her conditions are met. Which it turns out to be that they must wear swimming suits. However the situation becomes uncomfortable for Yuu when both Mitsuki and Iris join in because four people in a bathtub is a bit much. In the end it doesn't take long for Tear to adjust since her trust in Iris ends up being extended to the others in class as well. Things end with Iris wanting to take up Tear's place in Yuu's lap which is quickly denied. Next time things are going to lead into the nature of Tear's powers and why she believes she is a dragon.

Aldnoah Zero - ep16

Now with Slaine's rise to power it has caused tremors within the Maritain hierarchy. This leads to some of them taking more aggressive action to discredit Slaine position within the government. Although this leads them to a confrontation with Yuki and Marito but this also informs us on the reason why they were no longer on board the Deucalion. That once again it proves how useless the rest of the earth's armed forces are without Inaho, because even-though Yuki and Marito figure out the ability of this machine they are unable to stop it. That it was Inaho up in orbit that was able to essentially defeated it, which allowed for Marito to deal the final blow.

Then while all this is going on Slaine isn't doing nothing because he is taking action against the earth forces orbital base while the Deucalion is making it's orbital descent. Although it is truly unknown how much damage he did to the base but it was enough to get him the recognition of the rest of the Martian army. Which protects him from any future plots by the other orbital knights for the time being. Now he has mostly secured his position at the top that the only one that is really above him is Lemrina who is impersonating Asseylum. Which raises the question on how will Slaine do away with her considering he wants to because she is a threat to Asseylum but can't. While at the same time Lemrina is trying to get him to side with her but in doing so mean abandoning Asseylum. That this is another fight to look forward to other that the coming conclusion between Slaine and Inaho. In the end Asseylum is really the only thing that binds them together, that it only a matter of time before her health goes one way or another. That in this moment any number of things could happen.

Juuou Mujin no Fafnir - ep03

Things don't turn out well for Mitsuki's battle from the get go since the dragon has what equates to a perfect defense. That through her failure it leans to a shift of focus on eliminating Iris to at least prevent a second one of these dragons being born. Although Yuu doesn't believe it will come to that and he has no intention of succeeding his rights to anyone else. That is why he is going to deal with these intruders that have been sent to deal with Iris because his old commanders doesn't believe he will do his job. However in dealing with them he is unable to deal with the last one when Iris comes out early, that through her actions Iris gives him an idea on how to defeat this dragon but before he can act on it. Mitsuki makes an appearance demanding that they must end Iris's life before the dragon gets any closer because it can't be stopped.

That once again this cause Yuu to assert his position as being the one to make that call. Which leads them to fight over it, and instead of some epic battle between brother and sister it just who ever is able to touch the other persons head. Which leads to Yuu winning when Mitsuki has to protect her modesty when her skirt fly's up. This leads to Yuu having Iris join the fight because her magic will be the most effective by having her explosion occur inside the dragon's shield instead on the outside like what has been happening. Although this Strategy proves to be partial effective but it isn't enough to stop the dragon.

This is when Yuu takes action to stop it, while also showing us the rest of what happen when he was younger. It seems that unlike the others he has made a pact with a dragon, that it is through this pact that he has become a D. Then what does this mean for the other D's, does that mean to become one you have to form a pact with a dragon or is just this one that is different from the rest. The other question this raise is why does this dragon seek the destruction of it's own kind and why does it want Yuu's memories as compensation. That in the end more we are left with even more questions than answers at the revelation of Yuu's past. The question is that in time will forget everyone and even the reason on why he is fighting in the first place. The answer to this will only be reveled as the story unfolds.

Aldnoah Zero - ep15

It seems things are getting more complicate with Slaine and Inaho taking action in their own way. That first you have Slaine raising up in rank even further before the coming battle by Saazbaum declaring him as his son. Then you have Inaho position within the military, that he suggests that it would be wise to keep him off the front-lines because if he dies the ship will be once again be dead in the water. Although the captain understand this but in respect for all that Inaho has done. She will have him continue to be on the front-lines because she believe he is there greatest hope for victory.

It is also interesting how they tied in Slaine early actions in the battle with it conclusion, while also combining it in a way with Inaho act of playing chess. That between these two the victor will be determined by who can think further ahead of the other or to take action that the other won't be able to predicate. This is emphasis by Slaine's plan to keep Inaho grounded in a certain location while his shots he fired earlier are orbiting the earth. However things change when Saazbaum wants a rematch with Inaho and orders Slaine to stand back. This raises the question did Slaine willingly allow himself to take a hit, but regardless he steps out of the fight. That in doing so Inaho is able to fight someone he has already beaten before and with a little help from Inko he is able to take down Saazbaum barrier. Which leads to him escaping just as the trap that was meant for him hits Saazbaum instead.

That it appears that the real reason that Slaine stood aside was so that he could kill Saazbaum without directly having a hand in the actual deed. The questions is that will Slaine continue to indirectly aid Inaho while trying to appear that he opposes him or with Saazbaum out of the picture will he focus all of his hatred on Inaho now. Although it appears that the only true loyalty that Slaine has is to Princess Asseylum and he will do anything in her services. It also seems that he desires to overthrow the current system, the question then become when will his desire to serve Asseylum conflict with his dream to overthrow the system. Since Asseylum is part of that very system, that for the system to be overthrown it implies that she will have to die as well. It will be interesting what he will choose in the end.
