Episode 7 – 06 – New characters

Fiona Famenias – Is the daughter of the Famenias family, which is a famous Perfume maker. Also it turn out that she is the one who make their best perfumes.

Paduak Company – Is a firm which on the surface of simply buy and selling goods. Although under that veneer, they are in reality a criminal syndicate. That there real business is blackmail, smuggling, and drug trade.

Episode 7 – 06 – Summary 

Huey and Dalian appear to be waiting in line for several hours just to get some bread, but from the way to go about explaining it. When they finally able to by some Hugh question if Dalian will be able to eat twenty buns, as this is happening some strange woman come running in. Although once she make it Hugh and says he smells like a good person after she need protection from some bad men. Then in the chaos she grabs the bag and runs away. However as Hugh is stopping the men to try and make sense of everything that is happening she trips and drops Dalians buns. This part exists for the sole part of introducing us to the key person for this story.

When Hugh is being compensated for the trouble that the now named Fiona Famenias caused, he assures her father that it is completely alright. However he goes on to say that she is their head researcher for their perfumes, and he is a bit embarrassed to have you see Fiona acting like that. He goes into further detail by saying the his grandfather got the idea to start the company from a book, and this book is where their logo come from. His grandfather gave the book to Fiona because she was to one most interested in perfumes, and he never did have the talent for it. After hearing this Hugh believes that this is a phantom book, and ask if he could see Fiona again. Before they leave, Hugh hears that the Paduak Company wish to speak with Mr. Famenias.

Then as Hugh and Dalian are going to see Fiona, Dalian ask who this Paduak Company is. Before they get there Hugh explains that on the surface they appear to be an ordinary company but in reality the are nothing but a criminal syndicate. When they meet with Fiona she explains that she doesn't like the way her father is doing business and that is why she ran away. Is because that was the only way that she could protest on what her father is doing. Which later the find out that the Paduak Company is planning to kill Mr. Famenias to use their products to make them more money. When the run to the estate they find out that everyone is already dead, and from this they ask these Paduak people why did they do this. It appears that blue trance was a water down versions of relic which by Fiona was a failed product because all relic was is a narcotic. After Hugh defeats these people she knock him out with one of her perfumes the ties up Dalian. Which allow her to correct her mistake of allowing relic to be produce, then uses her perfumes to cause the people Paduak to go crazy and kill themselves. Which in the end destroyed all trace of the drug but unfortunately many people had to die because of the forbidden knowledge that was in the phantom book before everything was resolved.

Dantalian no Shoka - Ep6

Episode 6 – 06-01E – New characters

Mabel Nash – Is the police women for this town, however she acts more like she is the mayor or the welcome committee than a police women. Also it is a bit unusual of how welcoming she is of strangers in her home. Further more it is a bit suspicious of how much she makes herself stand out.

Hal Kamhout – It almost seems like he is looking for the phantom books but more so he is interested in anything that is happening that is out of the norm. Also he says that he is not a priest but a Libricide officer. However one thing to note is that he's interested in the phantom books but says they are worthless.

Flamberge – Seems to be a lot like Dalian, but something is different. The other important question with her is why is she chained up like she is. Although on the other hand she seems to be always trying to make Hal appear to be some kind of pervert. Also with that thought her speech seems to focus on anything that is sexual in nature.

Patricia Nash – Is the younger sister of the Police women Mabel Nash. Although she instead goes by the nick name of Patty. Also it seems that she wants these guest to leave but it doesn't seem to be out of hatred. It almost like she want to protect them but it like she doesn't want to say from what.

Episode 6 – 06-01e – Summary

The first thing to note is that this episode was labeled in the preview as an extra episode. Mean that it is unrelated to the main plot that it's intent is to give a little background on some characters that will be appearing later in this series. It starts out with as if he is lost but it seems to be more like he is question why one of the roads is closed. When he gets to town he is question by a policewoman and she tells them that there are no good places to stay in town. While a little bit later offering to allow them to stay at her house, but as they are going around town Hal is being a bit suspicious of the people because they don't quite seem normal. Although when they arrive at her home Hal is very interested in Mabel's sister reaction to them being there.

Later that night, Hal goes out to see why that road was closed off. It ends up going by this part of town that is completely level. Which is a bit unusual because there are no attempt to rebuild it even further, there seems to be actions of someone trying to hide the sight of it entirely. Then as Hal is walking through this devastation, he is approach by this prostitute, but when question on why she is out here. She is unable to answer, and tries to kill Hal. In the end it is discovered that she was never nothing but a doll brought to life and made to look human.

However upon his return to Mabel's home, Patty is extremely surprised that he is even still alive because everyone else that past through this town has died. Which leads him to the next place which is the factory that Mabel said that during the war it made ammunition, but the question now is since it is still working what does it product currently. It seems that the factory is ran by dolls to make dolls. The reason behind this is so that when ever someone dies they can be replace with a replica of who they where in life. In the end Hal knew that it was Mabel all along that was responsible. The reason the dolls are a problem is whenever the encounter something out of place they would eliminate that is why every person that pass through this town died. In the end Hal destroys the book responsible by using Flamberge to summon a phantom book to power his staff to destroy a phantom book with another phantom book. This allow the town to finally move beyond it denial that there friends weren't dead.

Episode 5 – 05 – New characters

Armand Jeremaih – Is a man that was under Hugh's command when he was in the military. Also from him we learn that the last rank that Hugh held was lieutenant, that is because he hates to call Hugh by anything but his rank. On top of all this he has an over the top personality that make him look like he is acting out a part in a play.

Viola – Is a woman who job is to serve the desire of men, also on top of this it is allude in the begin that she is not even human. What it seems that she was created for will be revealed in time, but one thing that is strange is that for every other character of importance they gave their full. Although for her we find that we just get her first name.

Melgar – His is an ancient magician that got he count title, and he is the one responsible for creating Viola for the sake of find out what cause men to be seduced. Also he want to know what cause Viola to develop a will of her own, so he want to take her back to dissect her.

Episode 5 – 05 – Summary

It starts of with someone banging on the door, when Hugh opens it he finds Armand who was once under his command when he was in the military as a pilot. Later we find out that so woman named Viola has asked all the men that propose to her, to get her a phantom book. Although it's not just the books but she asked for them by name. While having each man get her a different book. However, when Armand asked for her address he was given it immediately because he was with Dalian. This is because it seems that Viola wants to see her and appears to know who she is.

When they finally meet with her and ask how she knows these thing, and why she been asking for phantom. They find out that she just know these things, and doesn't even have memories of her own life. Shortly after they are attack by this creature that says she has until the next full moon before the count come to get her. Although in truth I doubt that she really doesn't know who is coming after her, because if she didn't why would she be so exact on which phantom books she wants.

On the next full moon, we see a small army prepared for battle. Although before the fight starts, Dalian tells a tail of woman under similar circumstance. Which in a way is subtly saying that none of these men are going to get this woman. Once the fight starts, count Melgar kills most of the men by turning their blood to mercury. Although when it appears the fight is lost, the five men that got their hands on a phantom books try to use them. However, Melgar simply burns them to the ground saying that all money can by is fakes, nothing of any real value. Things finally end when everyone is about to die and then Dalian allows Hugh to open the gate to acquire the five real phantom books. Which cause Melgars defeat, although in the end it turns out that Viola never intended to marry any of the men gather there just like the legend that Dalian was talking about earlier.

Episode 4 – 04 – New characters

Lenny Lents – He is the write of “Crown of Dogs Days”, but the strange things is that Hugh received a letter from him even though he is already dead. What interest him more is saying that he is imprisoned my a strange book.

Paula Lents – She has look of rich woman but lives in the middle of nowhere. What even more unusual is that as they drive up she is washing a bloody knife, and ask why they think Lenny lives there. What make thing worse is that he dedicate one of his book to his dead wife.

Leticia Serkis – She says that she is Lenny's lover but they find his dead body next to her cell. What more unusual is that she ask them to come back tomorrow to take Lenny away.

Episode 4 – 04 – Summary

Things get start off by Dalian asking about this book she was reading, why it says that it's a trilogy although there are only two books in the series. Hughs answers is that the author dies before he could publish the last one, although the reason he order the book was that he receive a letter from the dead author although it was address to Wesley. In the letter he says that he is being imprisoned by a book. Which cause Dalian to insist that they go see whats wrong.

When they arrive up north and ask if they can see Lenny, but she acts a little strange on why they know that he is here when it is reported that he is already dead. However she tells them that she is Lenny's wife and if they come back tomorrow they will be able to see him. Later that evening they come back and see Paula Lents come out of this shack with a bloody knife, however they find Lenny already dead next to cell with a woman in it. When question she tells them that she is Lenny's lover and to come back tomorrow and take him away. However when they come back the next day to see Lenny as promise, they find out that he is alive. Although he ask them to come back this evening to save Leticia Serkis but to take her away no-matter what she says.

Once again as they go into the shack they find out that she is already dead, and in come Lenny behind them with Paula following with a shotgun in Lennys back. They find out that what has been keeping them imprison is this book of soul exchange. What it does is you can bring someone back to life as long as you kill someone to exchange their life for someone else. However this resurrection is incomplete because after a day the person you brought back will have their body rot. What this means is that you have to keep killing to keep the person alive. Although what Paula has been doing is kill Leticia to resurrect Lenny, but then kill Lenny to resurrect Leticia. Ultimately creating this endless circle of life and death, but once Paula kill them one too many times they become immune to death and two souls are resurrect in one body and they get revenge on the one that cause them so much pain. Until they at last pass-on together, finally being free of their prison.

Episode 3 – 02 – New Characters

Camilla Sauer keynes – She is Huey's childhood friend, and the daughter of a rich merchant. She is always changing clothes into something different, and because of her strangeness Dalian hate her. Although Dalian changes her mind once she is bribed with enough sweets.

Mildred Dewer – She open a School to teach children in the Neighborhood and her school was in direct completion with Samilla's School

Episode 3 – 02 – Summary

Here we are with Dalian and Huey at a book store, when Camilla breaks up there fight. While Camilla introduces herself Dalian treats her like some woman come to steal her man. Although it turns out that in truth that Camilla was looking for Huey to see if he could help with a problem that someone she knows has. It appears that Mildred found a phantom book that increase the knowledge of anyone who reads it. However her students got so intelligent from reading the book that she no-long believes that they are human. When Huey talks to them he finds out that they know everything in the world, but they have no interested in ruling the world because it's pointless. In the end they just tell him to take the book because they don't need it anymore. In the end, Huey burns the book because it is something that isn't need by anyone.

Episode 3 – 03 – New characters

Queen of the Night – is an African carnivorous plant that Huey's grandfather bought before he died, which blooms once every thirteen years.

Gladstone Company – it is a company that buys and sells, information as well as stolen goods. It is really just some criminal organization.

Episode 3 – 03 – Summary

In the second story of this episode we find that Dalian is watering a flower. Although, when Huey see this and says that it is nice that she has an interest in things other than books. Dalian kick and says that it she waters it in the place of Wesley. Later they her someone knocking at the door, when Huey answers it they say that they finally acquired something that Wesley sent them to find but it turns out that they were lying. Once Huey surrenders when he sees that they have Dalian hostage, they tied them and search the house for this legendary book “Queen of the Night”. They tell him that book is in this house because they got this information from the Gladstone Company, and this is one of the books that his grandfather bought. Then when they search the backyard, and Dalian tells them not to. In the end they believe that is where the book is, so when they go back there they get eaten by the plant we saw earlier. It turns out that the “Queen of the Night” is both a flower and a book, the reason is that the flower that blooms once every thirteen year but what blooms is a book. This book exist to attract it's chosen type of prey human, and unfortunately it will be another thirteen years before the book appears again.

Dantalian no Shoka - Ep2

Episode 2 – 01 – New characters

Estella Lilburn – Request that his grandfather come to evaluate her collection that she inherit from her grandfather. Although Huey informs her that the reason that she never got a response is because his Wesley Disward die six months ago.

Martin Geese – He is the cousin of Estella Liburn, and believes that she is cursed. That she has been engage a few times in the past and everyone that tried to take her from the estate died. It didn't seem to matter who, so he asks Lord Disward to find this phantom book that is hidden in the estate.

Episode 2 – 01 – Summary

The story got start by a angry letter from Mrs. Lilburn because it was a half a year with no replied, however she didn't know that when she sent the letter to huey's grandfather that he had already had pass away. Also she apologies for sending a check along with her request to evaluate her grandfather's collection. When they get started Dalian starts acting like a jealous women believing that he is more interested in the woman than the case. Which leads to later being confronted by Martin Geese, that during his investigation if he were to find a phantom book to get rid of it. Mr. Geese reasoning is that this book is the reason that his cousin is curse to live in this estate never being able to leave.

Also a change that becomes more define as the episode progress is that they no longer call him Hugh but Huey. Which at this time when Huey is getting ready to go to bed, he notices Mr. Geese with Mrs. Lilburn. However Dalian make a point to comment on this by stating how unfortunate for Huey this is because Mr. Geese is seeing Mrs. Lilburn, but Huey response back that Mr. Geese is married. Dalian counters with that is the reason that it is immoral. Which shortly after Mr. Geese is murder and carried away by a golem, but the interesting thing is that Mrs. Lilburn doesn't to appear to be all there during this occurrences.

The next day they do further research into Mrs. Lilburns family but it seems to be that she is not so much cursed as she is homicidal. That these strange murders that happen in two different period of time indicates that it is not so much a curse or a phantom book, but a person. It that fact that proves that woman from Mrs. Lilburns family were mass murders and her grandfather was aware of this fact, and that why he create the golem to hide the truth. However it now seems that the golem has decide that Huey knows too much and needs to be disposed of. In the end the golem was stopped by the destruction of the clock-tower with its 72 bells, which in reality was the phantom book. Ultimately, the only thing that can curse people is other people.

Dantalian no Shoka - Ep1

 

Episode 1 – 00 – New characters

Hugh Anthony Disward – He is the main character of the story, and it is through him that we explore to mysteries of the series. Also we find out that he was in the military, but he was just a pilot. This is a bit vague but this was done so not all the mystery is revealed all at once.

Wesley Disward – Is Hugh's Grandfather, although we never see what he looks like he still is someone of great importance to the series even though it is predominantly indirect influence. Main reason is because of his death it was cause for Hugh to inherit all of his possessions.

Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian – Is the name of a mythical library, which is also associate with the demon of knowledge. That is said to possess all the knowledge in the world, and Dalian alludes that it doesn't really exist physically in this world.

Dalian – Is the name of the little girl Huge found in his grandfathers, although Huge original thought that she was a doll when he first saw her. It also appears that she has some relationship to the Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian, but goes by the name Dalian.

Henry Conrad – Is the person that was in heavy competition with Wesley Disward in collecting rare books. It is also seems that he is the person responsible for the murder of Hugh's Grandfather although there is nothing to prove that fact.

Episode 00 – Summary

In this we start a Journey with Hugh to his grandfather house, because he was bequeath all of his grandfathers possessions on the event of his death. Through this opening scene we find out that he is surprised that he was name by his grandfather the sole inheritor because he believes that they weren't all that close. Also it is mention that most of the family was afraid of him because he spent half of his fortune on a single book, along with this it is mention that it might of not been his grandfather that they were afraid of but his collection of books which might whole secrets in the black arts.

Once Hugh arrives and starts to investigates he finds it strange that it seems that all the book were dragged off into the basement. When he final reach the basement, he finds that there are mountains of books just stack about all around this one little girl that he first believe to be a doll. She later gets offended when he has to look for Dalian his grandfathers pet and clean up any of the mess the it might of made. The reason is that because her name is Dalian. When they relocate up-stair to properly discuses things, he mentions that his grandfathers collection was not all that impressive when it was said to be comparable to the Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian. Even though it did have some books of worth, but nothing the would deem such association. Then Dalian goes into an explanation of a world inside a gourd, that if Bibliotheca did exist that it would also have to be in it's own separate world. Then before the story gets any further Hugh get a guest that is the escort him to Henry Conrad's estate.

This is where things gets interesting, because Dalian question why Hugh what to see Conrad because he is the one responsible for murdering his grandfather he explains that he knows but there just isn't any proof to tie Conrad to the murder. When they get there they notice that something is wrong because it seems that there is no-one left alive in the estate. Dalian suggest that this is because that he used the phantom book, and goes into an explanation that these phantom books are book that shouldn't exist in this world. They these creature that seem real but turn to paint once they are kill are just byproducts of the phantom book that they will need to seal the book to truly end things. That finally once they are almost at the study they get stopped by a dragon that was created by the book, so Dalian reveals to Hugh that she is the world inside the gourd that holds 900,666 phantom books. That he must become her key-keeper so that he would be able to stop the dragon. Which would allow for them to seal the book so that no more harm would come to the world.
