Tasogare Otome X Amnesia - ep12 End

This last episode is more of an epilogue than a conclusion, because the conflict has already been resolved. Things start out with Teiichi and Kirie returning from Yuuko's funeral, and Yuuko greets them at the gate. It is more like she is there to greet Teiichi, and Kirie just so happens to be there as well. Then shortly after pleasantries are exchange, Yuuko runs off with Teiichi saying that they are going to do all the things they haven't done yet. It turns out with the fact that Yuuko is disappearing, she knows that it is only a matter of time before she is gone. Also since she believes that today could be the last time she could be with Teiichi. The reason she wants to go on a date is to break up with him so that it won't be as hard on him when she is gone.

However things don't go as Yuuko had plan because at lunch when she was feeding Teiichi her hand disappeared for a moment causing her to drop the chopsticks. This causes Teiichi to become aware of the fact that Yuuko isn't going to be around for much longer. Yuuko explains that no ghost can exist when it no-longer has unresolved issues, she knew it was only a matter of time. Yuuko only hope that she could of had more time so that she could have given Teiichi a clean break, because she doesn't want him to see her disappear. Although Teiichi refuses to leave and is going to stay with her until she is truly gone.

Thing take another turn for the worst when before they even leave the rooftop, Teiichi can no-longer hear her voice, so that leads them to the club room where Teiichi talks and Yuuko writes. Then sometime during this conversation, Teiichi also loses they ability to see her as well. However we are never really sure when this happens just that it has. Then in Yuuko's last moments she wish that Teiichi moves on and falls in love again.

Although Teiichi can't see that happen anytime soon but he promise that he will try. Then as time moves forward, and he returns to the club when the room is all repaired. Although as he goes deeper into the room he notice a box on the desk with a message on it, just like the message on the sealed door that lead down to where Yuuko's body use to lay. Given the message of “If you open me, You will be cursed” little thought, and inside the box is the notebook which contains a record of all the times that he and Yuuko shared. Then shortly after he opens the box Yuuko reappears behind him. Only thing that we don't know is if now that Yuuko is possessing him, that she might be free of the confines of the school. If that is so, that might makes things a bit more complicate for Teiichi.   

Tasogare Otome X Amnesia - Episode 11

Now that Teiichi has awaken from the memories of shadow Yuuko, he must also now deal with the consequences of knowing. Now that he knows of Yuuko past, this causes Yuuko to ignore Teiichi existence. Where before Shadow Yuuko made her forget Teiichi, now she can remember Teiichi. However because he knows of the past that she has forgotten, Yuuko can no-longer see or hear Teiichi. Also Teiichi can't touch her, or she will be force to remember her past. In a way Teiichi has become a ghost to her in the same way that she is a ghost to everyone else around her.

Then because of this situation it cause Teiichi to be extremely troubled by it, where he see Yuuko suffering but can't do anything for her. This ultimate leads to him having a conversation with Kirie, where he tells her that it might be the best thing if he just distance himself from Yuuko and in time he will be forgot. This piss-off Kirie, because she doesn't believe in what he is saying. That he needs finds someway to communicate with Yuuko, this leads him back to the old school building where he finds the investigation notebook. Then inside towards the end he finds that Yuuko has written “I want to see you”. This gives him the idea that he can communicate with her through the notebook, although they are force to stop when Okonogi comes in.

It turns out that Okonogi brought some old fashion candy like the ones in Yuuko's memories. This ends up giving Teiichi the Idea to go a meet with Kirie's grandmother to try and find out more about Asa. However when he goes, Teiichi discovers what happen to Asa as well as what happen after Yuuko's death. That everyone that so involve with her murder end up dying from the plague, that the names written on the cursed rock where their names. That the people that know her could only see Shadow Yuuko but not the other Yuuko.

This gives Teiichi the resolve to force Yuuko to notice him, by destroying the room where they spent so much of their time together. Although getting Yuuko to notice him wasn't his true intention but to force shadow Yuuko to appear. This given him the opportunity to show that he accept her other self, by showing it is natural to hate and curse other. His reason is that something like that is unavoidable when someone is force to suffer the way that she has, that his greatest regret is that he can't do anything for her but watch. Then Teiichi acceptance the two become one again.

This leads to Yuuko and Teiichi taking a walk towards Yuuko grave, where he tells her that he is Asagi's grandson. That the reason he exist is because of her. This makes Yuuko overjoyed because now she know that her suffering wasn't pointless. However just as things are about to end a little for shadowing appears, where Yuuko fades out for a bit. Which means it is only a matter of time before she crosses over, which means what will she do with the little time she has left.

Tasogare Otome X Amnesia - Ep10

Now we are going to learn the truth about what happen to Yuuko 60 years ago, and how all the other ghost stories are ultimately connected to Yuuko. Things return to were Teiichi is viewing the past through Yuuko's eyes. Things start out pleasantly enough but soon it gets into the fact that there is a plague going on, that many people have already died because of it. This leads us to the fact that Yuuko has gone to visit a little girl named Asa whose entire family has died, and currently she is sick as well. After trying to comfort her, she runs into her sister who is unhappy with her decision to visit Asa because she could have the plague.

This confrontation with Yukariko who is Kirie's grandmother and Yuuko's sister is interrupted by them seeing some adults heading off towards the school. This leads them to believe that they are going to discus ways to solve the epidemic, so they end up following them. Which it turns out that they were going to talk about what more they can do to stop the plague. It turns out that they believe that this plague is cause by the wrath of god, because they built the school on top of the ruins of a shrine. That to stop the plague they have to have a suitable offering, and the only thing that would be acceptable is a human sacrifice. That a criminal would be no good the only thing that would satisfied god would be sacrificing someone young and innocent. That they could cover it up by saying that they died of the plague, no-one would think twice with one more person dead.

Upon hearing this it horrifies both Yuuko and Yukariko that they run, but in doing so the adult are alert to their presence by Yuuko's bell ringing. Although they manage to escape with the adult never finding out who was listening in on them. However Yuuko is worried that they might use Asa for the sacrifice so she has Asa stay over, using the excuse that they have the extra room and doesn't want her to be alone. Later when Yuuko gets out from having a bath she notice that Asa is gone, and questioning Yukariko where she could be. Yuuko realize that the adult have her.

This cause her to rush off to try and save her, but Asa isn't the one they are planning to sacrifice. They intent to use her as Akahito to choose who to sacrifice, but because of her close connection to Yuuko. Also the fact that Yuuko is trying to save her, Asa calls out Yuuko name. This result in the villagers taking Asa answer as her choice, and this result in them picking up Yuuko. Then throwing her through the hole in the wall, and sealing it up behind her leaving her to slowly die. Although in the beginning she was happy that both Asa and Yukariko are safe, this quickly turns to malice causing her to hate the one that she tried so hard to help. Only to end up here because of her own kindness, and this is what cause Yuuko personality to split. This is also the point where Yuuko's ghost story began.

Tasogare Otome X Amnesia - Ep09

Now things are focusing in on Shadow Yuuko and questioning the fact of is Yuuko who she once was or has something change. In the begging it is highlight that Yuuko is now acting different that she did before she lost her memories. One of the major things that points towards this is that she is more clingy that she was before, also originally the only one that she show any emotions for was Teiichi. Although now when Kirie was interrupting Yuuko time with Teiichi, Yuuko hit Kirie before dragging Teiichi off. Also when they were having lunch together, she ran off crying when Okonogi tried to feed him. The clearest sign was when she was changing her clothes, so got embarrassed when Teiichi walked in on her. This is interesting because it never bothered her before except when he was look at her skeleton, claiming that when you are nothing but bones you can't get anymore naked.

It is not just Yuuko reactions to people that have change, but also it appears that she has also forgotten some of the things that they did together. One of the things that happen to highlight this fact, is when Yuuko has them investigate the cursed rock. While in fact Teiichi and Yuuko have already done this before awhile back, it just seems like that she end up forgetting. This leads to Yuuko being surprised by the fact that Teiichi already knows about it and the fact that his name has been written on it with permanent marker. This leads to them going home for the day but not before Yuuko praks Okonogi by writing her name on the rock as they are going home.

Then as they are heading home, for the first time Yuuko makes a real showing of not wanting him to leave. Once he has gone, she ends up meeting her other self. Who start questioning does she want to remain clean that much, Yuuko response yes because she is afraid that Teiichi will end up hating her if she is not. Then as this is going on Teiichi appears and separates them, this leads to him running off with Yuuko to hide her. However when the have some privacy Yuuko question why he is why, and he answers back that he was worried about her. That now he wants her to say here while he goes out there to confront Shadow Yuuko, the conversation quickly turns for the worse when the Shadow believe that now being separate from her isn't enough for Yuuko anymore. That Yuuko wants her gone, but she isn't going to allow for herself to be forgotten. Things end with Teiichi having to dive at Shadow Yuuko to keep them apart but this allows for Teiichi to begin to see the memories that Yuuko has forgotten. It seems that next time the truth will be revealed.

 

Tasogare Otome X Amnesia - Ep08

Then Continuing from when Teiichi broke his leg by Yuuko pushing him down the stairs. When he ends up meeting Yuuko again he is horrified that she doesn't even remember him at all, that it seems like she is a completely different person all together. Then when she asks about his leg and Teiichi refuse to make eye contact. Yuuko concludes that she caused it and tells him that they should never meet again. That she has caused him to suffer and that she forgot about him because he must have hurt her in some way for this to happen. Then after he leaves, he is confronted by Kirie about why Yuuko end up forgetting about him, that she must have created a split personality to take away all her pain. Then to this end, Kirie explains that even though it may have been unintentional he still cause her pain. Then to solve this to other personality adsorb all of Yuuko's memories of him.

Then in an act to respect Yuuko wish, he stays away from the old school building. Then in time it almost seems like he has completely forgotten about her, and has gotten on with his life. However throughout some of the points in the episode it is clear that Yuuko hasn't forgotten about him even-though we can't see her. Like when he was having lunch with Okonogi, the chop-sticks were knock out of her hand like in the previous episode. Also when Kirie was talking to Teiichi about that he should try talking to Yuuko again but when she starts crying and he tries to comfort her. Kirie suddenly get thrown across the field.

It isn't until Okonogi has a talk with him about is there someone that he likes, that he starts thinking about Yuuko again. This cause him to remember all the good times they had together and he isn't going to allow for her to forget. This is when he races off to the old school building to find Yuuko, but when he gets there he can't see her anywhere in sight. This cause him to scream out for Yuuko, but when she appears he grabs her hand and races off with her in tow. Teiichi only stops once they reach the roof where he confess his love for her, but she still ask who he is until he falls on her. Only then does all of her memories of him come back. This is also when Okonogi realize that she was never in the picture to begin with that he was in love Yuuko this whole time.

Tasogare Otome X Amnesia - Ep07

This time they are finally addressing the shadow Yuuko that has been appearing on occasional. In the Manga there is more of a set up because they are actively pursuing it before it takes direct action. However in the begin of the episode they focus in on the fact that Yuuko is starting to act strangely. In this way she is become more attached to Teiichi, where she is sitting in his lap during class. Then there is the fact that she is become jealous of his interaction with Okonogi and Kirie. This happens as Yuuko is dragging him off to have lunch on the rooftop they are stopped by Okonogi, which Teiichi agrees to have lunch with because he really doesn't have a reason to say no. However during Yuuko does two things to indicate that she wants to be left alone with Teiichi. The first is that she eats his lunch for him so that he would no-long have a reason to say near Okonogi. The second things is that she knocks some food out of Okonogi hand as she is trying to feed him.

Later on Kirie is having a conversation about Yuuko with Teiichi, How Kirishima Yuuko is in some ways a lot like Konoe Yuuko. That as Kirishima forced all of her misfortune onto Yuuko, Yuuko is doing the same thing to this shadow version of herself. She goes further by asking the question of maybe what this shadow is a form of psychological disorder. The is a disorder call disassociate amnesia where a person creates an second personality to force their problems on, and maybe because Yuuko is a ghost it has allowed it to act independent of Yuuko. This also would mean that no-matter what Teiichi does Yuuko with never get back her memories. Also this explains why she doesn't have any negative emotions like angry or hatred.

Then just as Kirie is finishing her explanation they turn around and see Yuuko there, and for some reason she runs off. However after Teiichi catchs up with her, they wind up infront of the curse stone. Which it turns out to really be a historical record of 1953 how there was a plague, and Yuuko's name is being refurded to in association with the plague. This leads Teiichi to believe that all the stories that they have gather so far has a degree of truth to them in telling the story of what happen to Yuuko. That about half a century ago there was a plague and to stop it Yuuko was chosen by Akabito to be the living sacrifice. The one problem with his theory is that she did so willingly but if the was true why was her leg broken to keep her from running away. Also why is the place it was done at underground.

Although the next day, Yuuko greets him like normal but she seem a little off to Teiichi. It seems like for some reason now when every she see her refection, instead of seeing herself she instead see Shadow Yuuko. It reach a point where it appears as if Yuuko got possessed by her shadow self, and pushes Teiichi down the stairs. Later when Teiichi comes back to school with a broken leg, he makes his way to the old school building where Yuuko is. However he is horrified to realize that she has forget him, it appears that Shadow Yuuko took Yuuko's feeling of jealousy as well as all her memories of Teiichi.

Tasogare Otome X Amnesia - Ep06

The story of the school fair continues into it second day, although there is a bit of a focus on Teiichi and Yuuko taking a break from the haunted house to enjoy the fair. Most of the story is about this ghost story about Akahito-san. That Akahito (red-person) is some sort of monster that kills people a drains them of all their blood. Although somehow Okonogi finds this ghost story to be strange because it is changed from the original story where Akahito was a messenger of the gods, and his job was to offer up a villager to appease the gods in a time of great calamity. It almost seems like someone is intentionally trying to create panic and unrest by changing the original story.

This seems to be very true when shortly after Akahito is seen on the rooftop of a building someone is injured. However to the viewer it seems cut herself and made it seem like the ghost did it to make the story more real. What this does is it cause some of the students to panic and think that they are going to be next. This somehow leads them to believe that if the offer up Yuuko-san, the ghost of the old school building that they will be spared. This ends up putting Teiichi unknowingly in danger because the haunted house that he is running boasts that it has a real ghost.

When these panic student descend on his haunted house while they have the door lock because they are on break. This people try and break the door down, but it seems like they have gone made. However while this is happening Teiichi realize why they are here and tells Yuuko to run for it, but when he looks back she isn't even there. Although because he said that Okonogi get distracted and stops holding the door, which leads to lock breaking and Teiichi getting captured. However Yuuko saves him by breaking some windows with a baseball bat. Which cause them to run because they believe that something is there. After they flee, the woman that was attack reveals that she was behind everything and she wants all the ghost stories to disappear. The reason being that just because her name is Yuuko they have cause her to suffer. That it would be better if they were gone.

This result into a little back story on Yuuko, where she was bullied because she shared the same name as the famous ghost of the school. That since they shared the same name people joked that she should know about Yuuko-san because she is Yuuko-san too. Even though this tells why she wanted to do away with the ghost stories in the first place. Her action ultimately ends up putting her in a tight spot because since they were going to offer ghost Yuuko to Akahito but they failed in capturing her. They figure that which Yuuko-san they use doesn't matter so they intend to turn her into a human sacrifice, which is a bit ironic since she is Akahito.

When Teiichi finds out what they intend to do, he convince Yuuko to help her. This leads to Yuuko dressing as akahito, then when they try to offer her up. Akahito rejects there offering because she isn't the real Yuuko-san. Then on the pretense of a false offering, she says that they will have to pay for this sin with there lives. Then as Yuuko is chasing them as Akahito-san out of the building Teiichi comes in and unties Yuuko. When she can't understand who was chasing them because she is Akahito, Teiichi explains that Yuuko of the old school building save her and some ghost stories are true. Things end when the burn the clothes, but things end a bit ominously with this shadow we been seeing appears before Kirie.

Tasogare Otome X Amnesia - Ep05

This time the focus is mostly on Okonogi and Kirie, rather than on Teiichi interaction with Yuuko. What is interesting is that they completely disregarded the ominous ending in the last episode with a dark shadow hovering over Kirie, and continued with the light hard nature that the series has manged to create. What is going this time is that there is a school fair going on and Teiichi is running a haunted house in the old school building. However Kirie is unnerved by Yuuko actions toward Teiichi and runs off. Although when she does this Okonogi follows and in the chase they both wind up lost in the old school building.

While they are trying to find out how to get back they come across the science room. This leads to Okonogi telling Kirie about another ghost story that she heard, that is about a heartless-anatomy model. That because it is missing it's heart it seeks to steal the hearts of others, and it is rumored to reside in the old school science room. It's kind of funny that a ghost story is using a pun in it, but they do end of finding it. Then the interesting thing is that they decide to bring it along with as the go around the school fair, before they bring it back to the club house for Teiichi Haunted House.

Then as they go around the school visiting various places, they end up running into some of Okonogi's friends that are running a cafe. That for no other reason that they feel that it would be interesting they enlist Kirie help as one of the waitress. They don't stop there but they go as far as dressing her up as a cat-eared maid. Although Kirie is extremely embarrassed by this because she believe that she doesn't have any feminine charm at all. This is why she is so surprised by the peoples reactions. Once the day is done, and she notices how beautiful at she actual is. What also surprises her is how she is comparing herself to Yuuko. This cause her to rush back to the haunted house as she is to get Teiichi opinion of how she looks.

When she gets there she finds no-one there and after looking the the mirror says how horrible here face is. That is when Yuuko appears behind her and says that she feels that way because it looks like hers. That Kirie secretly wants to be Yuuko because of all the attention that Teiichi gives her. Then as she rushs out Kirie runs into Teiichi and question him on what is there that Yuuko has that he like so much or does he like her because she is a ghost. However because he is dense, Teiichi doesn't see the real reason behind all these question. Although the way he answers surprises her because the reason he like Yuuko is that she is Yuuko. That in the end liking some has nothing to do with their physical attributes.

The Ghost story of concludes when Okonogi brings the model that they found in the science room to the club house and finds it's heart in the room. This cause her to go off on an insane ramble about it was never heartless to begin with that it approached them so that they could lead it to where it's heart was. This is really kind of strange to come that conclusion, which leaves me to wounder what sort of thoughts go through Okonogi's head.

Tasogare Otome X Amnesia - ep04

Summary

This episode I didn't like as much as the previous ones because there wasn't a nice transition into the story. There was no lead up to going on summer break or deep reason for coming to school during the break like there was in the manga. Although while they are waiting for it to get dark to that they can investigation the school for ghost, they use this opportunity to get a little fan-service by having everyone get in their swimming-suit. In disregarding the fan-service element in the early part of the episode it is still interesting to see that Yuuko is giving Niiya the cold-shoulder.

Once the sun-sets Niiya and Kirie go around the school investigating, while Okonogi remains behind in the night-duty room. However just as they are leaving Kirie suggest to Okonogi that it is always the one that is left behind is the one that is attack first. Then while the are on their walk Kirie tells Niiya that she believe that there is something else that haunts the school other than Yuuko. That is why she intially believe that Yuuko was this evil spirit that she saw one day, but if it wasn't Yuuko than what was it. Then as Kirie looks back she notices that Niiya is gone.

However it turns out that Yuuko just abducted Teiichi when Kirie wasn't looking. Yuuko's reason for this is because she is upset at Keiichi for not coming to school to visit her while he was on summer vacation. Also on top of that when he actual did come he didn't decide to come alone. That he is the only on that can see her, while he tires to suggest that Kirie can see her too. This upsets Yuuko because she doesn't like Kirie. Once he calms Yuuko down, he goes to check on Kirie and finds her crying. This leads them to go back to the night-duty room where Okonogi is, but when the knock on the door to get her to open it she freaks-out. Keiichi rush around the other side to see what wrong. It turns out that she got too worked up by what Kirie said before they left.

Once things settle down and everyone is mostly asleep, Yuuko tells Teiichi about the story of the night-duty room that she uses to come her when it was cold, and how she uses to get in was by knocking on the door to get in, but when they closed the door when they saw that no-one was there. Then by the end of the story Teiichi has fallen asleep. Then later that night Teiichi is waken by Yuuko when he finds her laying next to him in his bed. This lead to her taking Teiichi on a trip around the school only to find investigate another story from the night-duty log about the cursed rock.

Although the main reason for this trip is that Yuuko just wanted some alone time with Keiichi because recently she hasn't been spending as much time with him as when they first met. It turns out the curse rock really did exists, where by writing a persons name on it you curse them. Also Yuuko use this fact that it did exists to play a prank on Keiichi by writing his name on the rock. Things end with Yuuko and Teiichi spending sometime in the pool together.

Tasogare Otome X Amnesia - ep03

Characters

Niiya Teiichi – Is the main character in the story, after meeting Yuuko he wants to find out the reason for her death, and why her corpse was hidden in the old school building. In the desire to find these answers he looks into various ghost stories that seem to be connected to Yuuko in some way.

Konoe Yuuko – Is the ghost that inhabits Teiichi's school, and for some reason Teiichi is the one of the few people that can actually see her. It also appears for some reason she has forgotten how she died, although see really doesn't care about finding out. The only thing she wants is for Teiichi to pay attention to her.

Okonogi – Is a journalist that works for the school paper, and she ends up helping Teiichi a lot by digging up various ghost stories that end up floating around school. Also for her own reason she wants to help Teiichi out in his investigation of ghost stories.

Konoe Kirie – Is one of the few people that are able to see Yuuko other than Teiichi, other because of this it cause a great deal of stress for her. The reason being is that she can see Yuuko feeling Teiichi up while everyone else can't see her.

Summary

Things start out with a bit of sense of foreboding, with what appears that someone is able to see the interaction between Teiichi and Yuuko. This then leads us to the next day where Teiichi receives a mysterious letter. He believes it to be a love letter, so when Yuuko appears he quickly hide it and makes his escape. When he feels that he is a safe distance form Yuuko, he opens it. This is when he realizes it isn't a love letter at all, but it is from someone that can see Yuuko too. Also for some reason they implies that Yuuko is deceiving him.

After school he meets with the person to hear what they have to say, it appears that they believe that Yuuko is evil. That ghost by their very nature are weak creatures that seek to steal the strength that the living posses, and that is why that she believes that parasite is clinging on to him. Once she leave Teiichi beings to question the nature of Yuuko's actions and starts to subconsciously begin to fear her. Then once Yuuko appears he is afraid of what he might see, but when she sneezes cutely it dis-spells all of his current doubts of her.

Since both Teiichi and Yuuko are wet they go to the infirmary to dry off. While there she starts question Teiichi on how she looks to his eyes. The reason being is that she is seeking confirmation that the person she see in the mirror is the same one that is seen by Teiichi. While this is happening the person from earlier that was warning him about Yuuko returns, and tells him the hideous thing that she see Yuuko as. Then by pouring poison in his ears it cause Teiichi to see Yuuko the same way that this woman see her. After being horrified by seeing Yuuko look that way he runs away with this other woman.

Once they stop to catch their breath she Introduces herself as Konoe Kirie, That she is related to Yuuko. That she was able to see her from hearing stories about her from grandmother who was Yuuko's sister. This conversation leads to Teiichi telling her about where Yuuko's body is, this leads Kirie to believe that if they can get possession of her body they will be safe from her. While making their way to the underground path that leads to where Yuuko's body is Teiichi gets capture by Yuuko. While Kirie goes on ahead, leaving Teiichi being with Yuuko.

This leads to the fact that Yuuko to accept the fact that his perception of her has changed, and tells him in time he will forget her all together. Then before she can leave he stops her, and tells Yuuko that he was afraid. However he has no intention on being so anymore, that by facing her and telling her how he saw her earlier ends up correcting his own self-image of her. Although for him this isn't enough , he must take a clear look at her body to accept the true meaning of her death. Then when he goes down there he see that Kirie is huddle down too afraid to go any further. However when Teiichi go down to do an detailed inspection of Yuuko body, it appears as if someone deliberately turn Yuuko into a human sacrifice that it wasn't done willingly. That there is even greater mystery behind the fact that she has forgotten who she was in life and how she died, it could even be possible that Yuuko force herself to forget to protect herself from the truth.
