Kono Naka ni Hitori, Imouto ga Iru - ep12

It seems now things are move towards a conclusion, after Shougo's date with Miyabi finishes he confronts Yuzurina. That with the events surronding the party, he believes that the DNA test was falsified. Since he had it done by Seri, and it was her that invited his friends. That his mother said that he ask Seri to invite them. Then there is how she has been pushing him towards Miyabi, in hopes that they would become lovers. Then as things stand now the scandal would only be associated with his father, however if he were to become lovers with his sister. Then it would become his scandal as well. Ikusu interrupts the conversation by revealing that Hosho Yuzurina real identity is Danno Nayuri a famous child actor. Now that the true is revealed, Hosho no-long has a reason to remain around.

Then with one-half of the problem dealt with, Shougo no prepares himself to face Miyabi. However it isn't under ideal circumstances since she almost drown a little while ago. When he reveals that he knows that she is his sister, Miyabi is a little shocked. However she does explain her reasons, that in the beginning she had intended to tell him. Although with everything that happen there never seem to be a go opportunity. Then when Yuzurina showed up, she felt that it was kind of lucky because now Shougo would stop look for his sister and start dating.

Then later when she confronted Yuzurina about being his sister, this is when she reveal to her about the fact she was his sister. Once Yuzurina realize this she told Miyabi that all she want was to keep the secret hidden. That she would offer her assist if Miyabi had any proof to back up her story. That is when she was invite to the party, and she was to bring the proof with her. Although the other were invite to cover this up, but sometime during the party the letter was stolen. Later when Miyabi confronted her about this, Yuzurina act like the letter never existed. It seem like everything would work out.

After hearing this Shougo tells Miyabi about Yuzurina's true identity, once she hears this Miyabi feels regretful over what she has done. Although Shougo is thankful because without her the truth would of never been revealed. That there is nothing to forgive because they are family, the next day leads to everyone else finding out the truth. That with everything resolved Shougo is now free to pursue a relationship, but even-though she has been found out Miyabi still hasn't given up. Also it seems that the series isn't over yet because the mastermind is still out there and Shougo still has to choose a wife. 

Kono Naka ni HItori, Imouto ga Iru - ep11

It seem like things are getting much more complicated, that for some reason Shougo is ignoring the fact that Seri is associated with Yuzurina. That he is consulting and confiding in her, which is not a very bring idea. There is also the fact that Yuzurina seems intent on creating a divide between Shougo and Konoe. The other interesting fact is that all the advise that she seems to give Shougo could also apply to herself as well. The question is what will be the effect of Yuzurina pouring poison in his ear. It interesting because the person he should trust the least is the one person that he trust the most.

However the main focus of this episode is on his relationship between Miyabi and himself. That by not coming to school, she cause Shougo to come to her. However it seems that Miyabi wasn't expecting for Konoe to come along. Although when Miyabi realize that their isn't enough tea to make a cup for everyone, Konoe suggest that she will leave and get some from her room. In her absents the rooms atmosphere becomes very heavy, this is when Miyabi confronts Shougo with an ultimatum. That she will not return to school if he doesn't kiss her. Although since he is unwilling to do that, she takes a step down and orders him to go on a date with her next Sunday. Then Konoe returns when Miyabi finishes there conversation.

Then when Sunday comes around, things were initially tense but that doesn't last long. However for most of the date it has more of a vibe that the two were just friends, only thing that was an exception to this is when Miyabi was trying on different outfits. Then just when the date is about to end, Miyabi adds in one additional stop Lyrical Sister, which is the store that is own by Mei. This seems like there is very little doubt left that Miyabi isn't Shougo's sister, since Mei herself said that she was friends with his sister. You also have the fact that Miyabi herself is a bit antisocial, then why did she suddenly become friends with Mei unless they have been friends for a long time. There is also the fact that Ikusu is researching Yuzurina, that it seem that she has a past of being an actor. It seems that only thing that remaining is to reveal Seri and Yuzurina for the fakes that they are.

Kono Naka ni Hitori, Imouto ga Iru - ep10

This time around what is happening in the episode overal isn't as important as what is going on in the background. The first thing of major importance is that Seri-san who is a trusted aid to his mother is a traitor. That she is either work for someone or connected to someone that doesn't want Shougo to take charge of the company. This is most unfortunate because of the DNA test it seems that she has all she needs to destroy his fathers name. Although Shougo and Ikusu find out about her plans, it still isn't clear who she is working for or why. Worse still is that if they don't have any prof about her actions there is no way that they can expose her for the trator that she is.

The next important point is that they are starting to cast some doubt on whether or not Yuzurina is truly his sister. There is the fact that Mei who is friends with his sister doesn't care in the least about Yuzurina, but towards the end is extremely concerned about Miyabi who to Shougo's knowledge has had very little interaction with Mei. This seems to implies that the DNA test that Seri sent was falsified, there is also the fact Miyabi out right refusal to take the test by implying that Shougo had other intentions. Then you have where towards the end of the episode that Miyabi is acting like Shougo is leaving her, and is love isn't expressed in a romantic way but a sibling way. Personal I find the DNA test to be misdirection on the writers part, and the deeper truth is that Miyabi is truly his sister.

Then towards the end you how a clear statement that Seri is working with or connected to Yuzurina. How this is establish is through how the other innovations were obtained, that he ask Yuzurina for help. Then he realize that she asked Seri to set things up. That means that she is directly connected to the traitor and she can't be trusted either because of her association with Seri. If she isn't his sister then she is trying to dishonor him in three different ways. The first being once the real on is found, there would be clear prof that Shougo's father cheated on his mother. The second is by have Shougo show up with all these different woman, it shows that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. The last point is that if they can set it up where he is dating his sister when they reveal the information, that gives meaning to the reason on why Yuzurina would act as his sister for a time. The most troubling thing is that she showed up at his school the first time with someone that he knows now to have no go intentions.

Kono Naka ni Hitori, Imouto ga Iru - ep09

Now with the most recent fake sister revealed the story moves onto it next development. The new direction the series is taking is interesting, the new arc begins when Shougo gets a new neighbor. Then later when they come over to introduce themselves, she introduce herself as Hosho Yuzurina his sister. This leads to her coming inside where she explains herself, that officially she is his second cousin from his fathers side. Although she does tell him that they meet when they where younger, however he doesn't get a headache like when he ended up meeting Konoe. Ultimately with all the fakes that have appeared so far it is a bit strange that she decide to show up now, that she waited all this time until after the funeral to contact him.

However with a call from Kanoko the story returns to it's central focus, that the real reason for Shougo to go to school is to find a wife. Although hearing this it seems that he forgot about that point with all this searching for his sister with no real results. That is unless you count the person herself knocking on your door. The real problem is what his mothers call reminds him on why he is there but that he is expect to bring his future wife or a girlfriend at the very least to the party. This is a bit of a problem for him considering all that has been going on, although he does have a few people he could ask. The issue would be the image that they would create by going with him to this party.

Then after creating this problem the series quick put the issue behind it by moving to the next day. While enjoying swimming in the pool during PE, Mana and Rinka come along with his Yuzurina in tow. It seems that they are showing her around, however it interesting why Yuzurina announces that she is his sister in-front of all that are gathered there. Even if she is his real sister why is she suddenly trying to discard all effort of secrecy. Another things is that Mei is suppose to have already met and became friends with his sister, so why does she act as if this is the first time meeting her. Things get more complicated after her introduction.

The reason for this complication is when she ask her brother who he is going to bring to the party, it clear must be someone here since they are all so close to him. However it seems like she is intentionally trying to create conflict, and in this she is successful. Rinka acts like it obvious that Shougo is going to bring her, this cause Miyabi and Konoe to but in. This sudden conflict cause Mei to be interested in going just to see what it is like, then strangely Mana steps in acting like she will be the one he chooses. The conflict is end when the teacher walk in on them in a compromising situation after eavesdropping.

Then later that evening we find Konoe preparing dinner for Shougo, and afterwords playing around when she says that she won't leave until he has desert meaning her. While playing around his sister get interested and start to listen in on what is going on. Although when it become more than what she can take she hits the wall causing it to shake. This changes the atmosphere for them leading to Konoe going home. That when they are about to part Konoe suggest that he give her a goodbye kiss. Then just as he is about to he stops because he feels like someone is watching them. Although we never do find out if they kiss or not. The episode ends with Shougo getting the result from the DNA test on Hosho Yuzurina saying that they are related. However at various points I felt that Seri his mother's aid and Yuzurina are up to something. That perhaps Seri isn't all that trust worthly and Yuzurina is working with her to achieve something. It would be surprising if Yuzurina is another fact sister since there isn't a hint of a memory of her.

Kono Naka ni Hitori, Imouto ga Iru - ep08

After Shougo join the Morality committee to be able to observe the Student Council Vice-President, it turns that he has been able to achieve much in results. The reason is that he is force to spend so much of his time doing the actual job that there is no real time to observe Rinka. What makes this even more complicated is that Konoe and Miyabi are causing problem to get him to quit. Once Mister X or other wise known as Ikusu hears Shougo's problem, that because of his position he unable to get close to Rinka even though they work together. This cause Ikusu to come up with an idea, that Shougo needs to meet up with Rinka somewhere the isn't connected to School.

Then to this end Ikusu ask Mana to join him at the amusement park which cause Rinka to come along to keep an eye on Mana. Which turns out was what Ikusu was planning on, and that means the only thing to left to do is find so way to get Shougo and Rinka to spend some time alone. This proves to be easy enough after going on some rides they come upon a zombie shooting game that Mana wants no part of, so Ikusu gives her an easy way out by offering to buy her some ice-cream while Shougo and Rinka go on the ride. Even though this allows Shougo to spend some time alone with Rinka he doesn't find all that much about her other than she never had the opportunity to enjoy herself with all of her responsibility. There time there ends with Shougo buying a Racoon key-chain that Rinka was looking at earlier.

Later when he gets home he is trying to remember where he seen something like this key-chain before. It suddenly comes to him that there was a very similar one on Mei's Cellphone that went missing. Shougo figures that was the reason that Rinka was looking at it because it was reminding her of Mei's phone that she took. Then with this in mind he ask to borrow Konoe's phone so that he can set a trap for Rinka. In the begging it seems like Rinka doesn't fall for his trick the next day, however she makes a mistake by saying it isn't the same because the key-chain is different. Then with this mistake that Rinka was the one that made the announcement with Mei's phone.

Although this leads to her explaining why she did it to begin with, she reveals to Shougo that she is engaged to Genda's son, and that because of this she had to help with what Genda himself ask of her. That he wants her to find out who Mikadono Kumagorou hidden child is, that with this information will put him in a better position when he enters into negotiation with Kumagorou group. She didn't like the idea of doing something like this but was force to obey because of her arranged marriage. That she was intending to use her announcement to give Shougo a warning, that he needs to be more careful about things that go on around him. Once he realize that she was only trying to help he forgives her.

Although this brings up another issue, he believes that people should only marry if they love each other. That he would be willing to pretended to be her lover if that would help her get out of the arrangement that her parents made for her. Rinka is unwilling to do this because she is unwilling to live a lie, but she feels that if he is willing to go that far for her sake then the only solution is if they become loves for real. Then with this her parents would have no choice but to cancel her engagement since she would already have a lover. Although as she is making her move on Shougo towards this end someone comes into the room when Rinka has Shougo in a compromising position. This only help free her of the whole that Genda has over her, and her father approves of this relationship with Shougo. The question reminding is that if his sister isn't Mana the only one in the group that hasn't been investigated, than who is his sister since all these false leads are getting confusing. If you think about the only time that his “Sister” contacted was at the funeral. Also what are Genda's intentions on trying to find Shougo's sister is there something else he is trying to achieve.

Kono Naka ni Hitori, Imouto ga Iru - ep07

Then with the conclusion of another false little sister, the story continues to move forward. It seems that Shougo believes Konoe and Miyabi stories, but it because he can't really remember he is force to take their word for it. This leads to him wanting to be 100% certain on the fact that they aren't related. This cause him to return to the idea that Mister X originally suggested a DNA test, but since they want to keep this quiet it must be done through someone he trusts. After calling Seri-san he receives the material for the DNA test, however the problem is how he goes about getting the samples from Konoe and Miyabi.

Before class Shougo explains to them what he wants to do, and at least initially they were alright with it. However when Shougo was wiping the inside of Konoe's cheek, Miyabi starts to believe that he is going to use the cells for something different than what he says. Which is very idiotic to me at least if you consider their past actions. Then because of Miyabi's outrageous actions she make a scene where Shougo is seen as a pervert. Personally I think if she isn't willing to put his doubt to rest, then Shougo should just pursue Konoe instead. Also there is the fact that his mother would probably feel that Miyabi isn't dignified enough.

Things start going in a different direction when the school board of directors starts observing the school. This ends up making especially the teachers very tense, but it also creates a situation where another “sister” ends up revealing herself. Whether this is another fake or the real will be revealed in time. Later during lunch, Mana goes to get Shougo because Genda the head of the board of directors and the owner of a large company wants to meet with him. Then during this meeting the schools intercom is use in combination with the voice change phone, announcing to the entire school that he has a sister. Although lucky everyone believes that it is a prank, that the school is to blame because the student have too much freedom.

This leads to the start of another investigation, that it turns out that all the key people that knew about the phone are accounted for during the event except Rinka the vice-president of the school. One of the things that is strange is that Mei just place it in the trash, it almost as if it was set up so that the phone could switch hands without out Mei being directly involved. However conveniently Rinka is currently suspected for cause the incident is forcing Shougo to become a part of the disciplinary committee. Her justification for this is because he is directly related to the incident. Then with this Rinka began to the suppression of the entire student body. There is also a possibility that Rinka could of used the phone in a similar way to Mei so that she could use Shougo to create what she feels is an ideal school environment. However there is the possibility that the conversation was pre-record since it was announcement and not a conversation.  

Kono Naka ni, Imouto ga Iru - ep06

In the begging Shougo confronts Mei about going back to America. It turns out that her store is barly getting by because she can't keep it open all the time. However Shougo believes it has more to due with Mei's strange presentation of her shop, although he doesn't voice this opinion out-loud. This leads to Shougo trying to help save her shop, but it seems like Mei believes that it is only a matter of time before it fails. Shougo on the other hand hasn't given up hope yet, that there still might be a chance to turn things around.

This leads him into starting an advertizing campaign, the first step towards this undertaking is the creation of the rough draft. Then once he has this done, he goes to the Manga club to have one of the main members help with the creation of the AD. While he knows that the Manga Club will be able to create it, but Shougo also needs so way to distribute it. Then towards this end he goes to the publisher of the school newspaper that wanted to interview him, to get them to print the AD and in return he will do the interview. Also as this is going on he gets Rinka to help out with expanding Mei menu, while Mana taste tests. Lastly the day before the event Shougo pass out some fliers with some help from the sisters that work at Mei's Cafe.

On the day of the event it appears that Shougo's plan was a success, so much so that various people that helped in the preparations of the event are also working there at least temporally. That some of this success is due to Shougo popularity with the woman seeing him as a reliable older brother. Anyways at the end of the event, it appears that once Mei totals everything up she can remain open for quiet awhile longer. Once she realize that she shouldn't have underestimate him, Mei basically tells him that they should start making babies. That the two of the together would create the ultimate child, can anyone say world domination. However Mister X helps him out by calling Shougo that he needs his help to find his lost hat.

Then next day when he gets up early expecting a call from his “Sister” but never receives one, he takes this time to look outside and see that he has the perfect view of Mei's room. Then in this moment everything falls into place. Shortly after he confronts Mei in her room about everything that been going on, then traps her into reveling that she isn't his sister. However Mei does reveal that she does know who his sister is and that they are friends. That they first meet many years ago when Mei's mother was still alive, and that she won't tell him who she is because she is an unwanted child. That truthfully even if he is able to accept her that doesn't mean that the rest of the family will. Although Shougo surprise her by not pressing the matter and only asks that she remains being friends with his sister. This means that if it's one of the five girls that means that there are only two remaining unless there is a joker in the deck.

Kono Naka ni Hitori, Imouto ga iru - ep05

The mystery continues when a new little sister calling, and she seems to implies that she is the same one from his fathers funeral. This makes Shougo's life a bit more difficult because of the time that she is calling. Since she is calling early in the morning he has to get up even early to wait for her call, this ends up cause problems for him since he isn't a morning person. One day when he is about at the end of his rope, he decide to catch up on some of his sleep in the infirmary. However interestingly enough it almost seems like Sagara Mei was waiting for him to try to sleep in the infirmary. This leads to her offering Shougo a special place to sleep, but in return he has to come to her cafe.

In the end Shougo agrees because he believe that it will be easier to sleep if he is in a place that no-one knows where he is. Once he enters into Mei's special room, Shougo is almost wishing that he stayed with the Infirmary. Although it looks like a storage room, in the back corner behind a bookcase there is a futon. Which it appears that Sagara Mei uses everyday, and her offer implies that he is going have to sleep next to her on the Futon. Which leads to him believing he isn't going to get much sleep. Although he still carries through with his end of the deal by later going to Mei's Sister Cafe.

Once School is out Shougo head to Mei's Cafe but since Miyabi is coming with him he has to wait until she finishes her swimming pratice. Once they arrive Shougo is uncertain on how he should feel being called Onii-san (Big Brother) considering he has a hidden Imouto (Little Sister), but Miyabi is overjoyed about someone calling Onee-san (Big Sister). Later Shougo get a bit confused over the fact that the menu sound a little strange, so to play it safe he orders love omelet because it sound the most normal. It turns out he made a bad choice since it is made with too much salt, and he suppose to eat it restfully like a big brother would try protect his sister feelings. Although when Mei questions him on how it is going and if the moe has killed him. She is extremely disappointed that it hasn't, and this is when she explains the theme is that to have a little sister as your wife is a forbidden fruit. Although this statement hits a bit too close to home for Shougo.

The next day he decide to sleep again at Mei's special place, when he opens the door he is shock to see Mei dressed as a Cat-Eared Maid. Which result in him coldly shutting the door and leaving. Mei quickly calls out to him, and he come back. This leads to Shougo finding out why she is running a cafe. It appears that she is adopted, that the reason her father adopted her was that he wanted to explains her unusual skill at math. However when he move to America to be a professor, she remind behind with her mother. It turns out that her mother ran a cafe out of the same shop that she owns, but when she died. Mei had to move to America to be with her father, and her mothers shop had to be sold. However later when she published a paper, she earned enough money from that to move back to Japan and buy back the shop that carried so many treasure memories for her.

However when Shougo mention wants to see this paper, Mei begins to search the room for it. Although in the process she knocks over some books to reveal the same model of cell phone that Konoe has. Then to Shougo this means that Mei is currently the most like the person that has been calling him. Once he gets over his shock he goes to talk with Mister X, and explains the situation, that it is possible that she is his little sister even though she is a year ahead of him since she really doesn't know when she was born. Nothing get resolved when a reporter interrupts their conversation question Shougo if he know whether or not Mei is really going to close her shop down and head back to America. Then the episode ends with this shocking bit of news.

Kono Naka ni Hitori, Imouto ga Iru - ep04

In the aftermath of what happen last time, Shougo believe that he knows who his sister is but wants to be one hundred percent certain of it. This is why Mister X is going through all the possible voice changers, that if they find a match it might be possible to find the person calling him through the paper trail. Then with the additional information that Shougo gives Mister X that it is water proof as well as being small. Since one time she call him while taking a bath, this gives Mister X something more to use to narrow his search by.

Then while Mister X is continuing his search, Shougo goes to class. Although while in class Konoe gets concerned over Miyabi change in behavior. Which is why later she confronts Shougo about it. Since Shougo feels that he is correct in his assumption that Miyabi is his sister, he confides in Konoe about everything that has been going on. However later when he returns to class he finds to Konoe is gone, then once school is out he receives a call from Mister X about to voice changer. That the model was made but all were recalled because it was too good at what it did. That means that the only one that could have been used is to prototype. This point to the fact that Konoe has been the one calling him that the connection to Miyabi was just a misunderstanding.

Then in his desire to find and confront Konoe, he recruits various people from around school to help him like Mana and Rinka as well as Miyabi. Then once he leave the school he tries to think of all the place that Konoe might go, that leads him to the park. Which is one of the first place they went after the meet for the first time. Once there she explains to him that she felt guilty for not telling him sooner since he was so honest with her. This leads her to tell him about when the photo was taken, however this cause him to understand something. That all this time she had been calling him she wasn't meaning an actual sister but someone that was close enough to them that they consider them family. That the situation just snowballed out of control when one misunderstanding built upon another.

Then when they are about to kiss, Miyabi breaks them up by complaining getting her to help when he already found Konoe. This leads to Miyabi clearing up the misunderstand that she help create because she misunderstood what he meant back at her dorm. She thought that he remember the time when they were playing as kids and they had a pretend wedding. That he was making reference to that, however once he explains what has been going on with him. Miyabi can understand his overall confusion. Then for a while he is relieved that he doesn't have a hidden sister, although when questioned them about which one call out to him at his fathers funeral. They both answer in their own way that neither of them went. This means that he still has a sister out there, it just means that it is neither Miyabi or Konoe. Questions is if there really is one, where is she. The only thing he know for certain is that it is safe for him to date Miyabi or Konoe.

Kono Naka ni Hirori, Imouto ga Iru - Ep03

It seems that Mister X is causing more problems than he or she is fixing. First of all she breaks into Shougo's place and feels that is alright because she can pick locks. Then she tells Shougo about her bright idea that she came up with while using his shower, that if he is so concerned about marring his sister that he can just marry her instead. Then to prove her point she throws herself at Shougo but unfortunately Konoe and Miyabi let themselves in at the same time. Why this is problematic is that they don't know that Mister X or Mizutani is actual a woman, although once the day is over we get another clue on who his sister might be. That is when his sister calls she make a reference that he might be interested in men, which implies that she was in the room.

This then leads us to the next day where Miyabi and Konoe visit him with then intentions of send down the right path. How they intend to do this is by appealing to what they believe is his fetish, that he is a siscon (Sister Complex). Although they don't allow him to get in a word edge wise, and this leads to Konoe and Miyabi acting like his sister. Which really doesn't help his problem because he is trying to avoid dating his sister and they are only make things more difficult. Things get even worse when they prepare his lunch for him, and it only makes things worse by feeding him things to make him horny. Things get even worse when they stay over at his place for the night. However interestingly enough his “sister” never did end up calling him like she does every night.

The next day he is intent on put some distance between them. Which leads him to run away from them once lunch come around, even-though he does escape. Where he ends up hiding is in the student council room, where he ends up talking with Mana and Rinka. This proves to be a bit difficult because he tries to explain his situation with out explaining it. Although Mana was able to understand a bit a tells by runaway will not solve anything. That just wanting to be neutral ground will not help either, he needs to make a decision and stand by it.

When he leaves he runs into Miyabi, and when asked if he would help her look for a swim-suit he agrees. However as it starts to rain as they head home they both end up soaked to the bone when a truck drives by. This cause Miyabi to force Shougo to return home with her because it is closer, so that he can dry off. After a bit of resistance since Miyabi lives in the girl dormitory, he relents. Although once he is inside her bathroom he see this soap dispenser that is a link to the toy he received on his birthday. Then with this it leads him to believe that Miyabi is his sister, but instead of directly question her on this fact. Shougo does something that ends giving him an unclear answer, by asking Miyabi who she wants to marry. When she says that she would like marry him, he believe that he found his answer. Although this could just be another attempt at misdirection by the writer or Miyabi really is his sister, only the next episode can answer this question.
