Log Horizon - ep06

Now as things continue, it seems that the new issue revolves around the guilds. Then to get things started they use Serara's welcome home party at Cresscent Moon Alliance to explain the rules of guilds as well as starting things off on a happy note before things get much dark. The main problem is that in the time that Shiroe was gone thing have gotten worse even-though on the surface it look like things have gotten better with the reduction of Pkings. However the reality is that the large and more powerful guild have laid claim to all the good leveling fields and the smaller guild are push aside to take what ever they can find.

The real problem are guilds like DDD which are aiming to be the first 91 level players, since with this expansion pack it increase the level cap from 90 to 100. The reason they are an issue is because they are leveling up by cheating, this is done by using exp pots. The exp pots are not an issue in themselves but they create an issue by allowing players to level up faster. Although players under level 30 get on a day. What this has cause is a demand for these items and Hamelin tries to meet this demand by bring lower level players into their guild, and taking their exp pots as payment for giving them safe harbor. This also relates in a way to the meeting that Marie had awhile back with the other guild master of the smaller guilds, it was an attempt to make things better for them but in the end they had too many difference to come to an agreement on much of anything.

This leads to Shiroe question on what can be done about this current situation because now that he has been to Susukino, he can't look away because he see Akihabara is just as bad the only thing is that it's better at hiding it. Then as he is questioning the nature of guilds, he is approach by Nyantan. His old friend give Shiroe views on the issue of guilds, that they are not necessarily inherently wrong but they can become corrupt if not cared for properly. That it not necessarily bad that he is wary of them but something that can't go bad does have much value. This push Shiroe to make his own guild by seeing Nyantan and the others silently support him waiting for the day he decides to make a guild of his own. This is also what will allow him to say his friends that were taken in by Hamelin. It seems that with the creation of his guild Shiroe has a plan to take back Akihabara from the people that have been abusing it and it seem that the first step is getting rid of Hamelin.

Infinite Stratos S2 - ep06

Things pick back up with the confrontation between Madoka and Ichika, but they don't go much further beyond this brief introduction. The continuing with this dark tone, thing continue where Ichika and char are guarding some prototype IS. Which it seems to implies that they will be target by Phantom Task. Although things get a bit out of hand this also leads things back to a bit more humor atmosphere. The reason for this the explosion cause an error with Ichika's IS where he can't materials it. Which leads to him having to be without for a while, but Chifuyu wants to keep things quiet so since Char already knows about what happen she gets appointed as his bodyguard.

However it turns out that Ichika's IS isn't the only thing that was effected it seem that there is a defect in Char IS now which prevent her from wearing underwear. That this become the joke of the episode where Char has to protect Ichika while trying to preserve her modesty. It also a bit ironic that Laura bring up the issue about underwear and asks Ichika on his preference. This cause Char to be overly self-conscious about her situation, which ultimately leads her to leak the situation to the others. This leads all other kinds of problems with the others trying to prove that they would be better bodyguards that Char. Things return to normal once the effect on the IS wear off, and Char is able to wear her panties once again.

Valvrave the Liberator - ep17

Now with Marie's demise, Haruto is force to face the truth of what is waiting for him. That every-time he pilots the Valvrave he loss a little bit of himself. It interesting that after Marie had her reunion with Pino, she has become extremely talkative. However now that the truth is reveal Haruto is terrorified of the Valvrave, because every-time he pilots it he will gradually be marching towards his own demise. The majority of the episode forces on Haruto's conflict with the Valvrave and the question of whether or not he has will to get back on the horse even-though now he knows what is awaiting him at the end of his journey.

Although there are other issue that are approach throughout the episode, such as the fact that Yukino is still missing even-though they manage to escape. There is also the fact that she still hasn't return to her body. Then there is the fact of the favor that the rogue faction in the Dorrsian asked of them. That through this further mystery surrounding Runes and Magius are explored. That it appears that Dorrisa army is harvesting runes from people, basically creating human batteries. This horror cause Haruto to face the truth that he is running away, he truly accepts it when L-elf suggest having to other take turns using Unit-01. This fact goes against Haruto's intent of having the curse end with him, and it gives him the strength to get back in the saddle even-though he knows what is awaiting him. Things end with the series alluding to the fact that everyone that is part of Magius is an alien, that the war is a ruse for them to harvest all the runes that existed on the planet. That with the way things are going the question is how are they going to reveal the one true enemy.

Unbreakable Machine-Doll - ep05

Now with the start of the new arc, we get introduce to two new character. The first being Frey is trying to assassinate Raishin to prevent him from participating in the night party, but instead of assassinating him it look more like she is trying to seduce him. This cause him all sorts of problems because Yaya personality and she see every woman as a threat to her relationship to Raishin. The other new player is Frey's brother Loki. Which seems to very hostile to Raishin, partly because he hates Asians the other reason is the he is overprotective of Frey. The interaction with these two character drive Raishin to what to learn more about their situation.

Part of the drive to learn more about Frey is because she is the first person he will fight in the night party. The other reason has do with the trouble she is forcing on him by her fail assassination attempts are driving Yaya up the wall, which learns her to take her frustration out on Raishin. Then to bring a resolution to the problem he get in touch with Shoko, who sends Yaya's youngest sister Komurasaki to help Raishin. The reason for this is because she has stealth magic which will help Raishin in his infiltration of Frey and Loki sponsor. However we are left with a bit a clip hanger when we see Yaya attack when Raishin's away with Komursaki. Although it is doubtful that this is the end for Yaya, but what interested me more is if they will explain why Yaya is so obsessed with Raishin. Is the a deeper reason beyond the fact that it is just a part of her personality.

Log Horizon - ep05

Now with the threat to Serara concluded, the continue with exploring aspects of the world the find themselves in. First the revisit the issue of food and why all the stuff doesn't have any taste or comes out horribly burned. It turns out that you can make proper food as long as your cooking level is high enough and you actual make it from ingredients. This means that as long as Nyantan remains part of Shiroe's group the won't have to worry ever again about eating the tasteless food that this world has to offer.

Although the really issue that they explore is the role that the NPC play. That it seems as time has passes they are become more human, and less robotic as you would expect a NPC to act in a game. However the cause of this is still unknown but it will probable be explore in time. This also brings up the question of as the NPC become more human, then wouldn't that make where it is them that really don't belong. It would also mean that the manner in how you respond to them will have to change as well because they would no-longer be a soulless program.

Things end with the series foreshadowing what direction the series will be heading in next now that they are returning to Akihabara. Although Susukino was bad it could be that Akihabara is just as bad but it just hides it behind an appearance of false-peace. This is brought up when Shiroe reminces about the twins that he help out in the past. Although they join a guild he believe that they are better off now but as the story show, that really isn't so. The next arc seems like it's going to focus on how the weak are being taken advantage by the strong. The question become how will Shiroe is going to solve this problem.

Infinite Stratos S2 - ep05

It seems like things have return to being fun and games again. Which is typical for this series since it can't be serious for very long. It was interesting how they tricked you in the beginning to think something serious was going on with Ichika being lured into a trap. However it seems that they have a game of their own to run and Yamada-Sensei is helping them out. The competition this time is about who can serve Ichika the best. The first one up is Houki as a Kitsune-Miko, she has the most appeal that if their time wasn't cut short they would have kiss. While Cecilia as a bunny-girl working to pool table tries to get attention by showing the most skin but it kind of back fires on her with Ichika more interested in learning to play the game than in her. The Char as a french puddle is almost as successful as Houki because of her unintentional clumsiness. Laura has problems because she really doesn't know how to appeal to him.

Although the chaos begins when Rin is about to have her turn but Tatenashi decides to intrude on there game by stealing Rin's costume. However it seems that she is the most successful out of all of them, but Rin has no intention of letting her get away with it and tries to get her turn back. In the end she fails as Tatenashi makes her escape leave them with the last contestant which is his sister Chifuyu. Then with the conclusion of the last contestant the real reason for all this is reveal, was Ichika can't remember his own birthday so they wanted to do something special to make it memorable. Things end with them asking Ichika who he thought was best and he gives the worst answer by making his sister the winner. This result in him getting beaten for his stupidity, when it clear that Chifuyu was never an acceptable choice.

Now with Ichika return to his dorm, he meets the person that stole Slient Zephyrus. It turns out it is Ichika she has a grudge against not Chifuyu, there is also the fact that she seems to implies that she is the female clone of Ichika. That is express by saying the she need to get rid of him to remain as herself. Which is very common that the clone would want to kill the original, although it still unclear if she really is a clone or that they had a third sibling. Although the greater question is what really happen to Ichika their at the end because it is doubtful that he is dead, and we still don't know the story behind who Madoka.

Valvrave the Liberater - ep16

This time it is focus on Marie, and through Marie we learn more about the Valvrave's nature. Although there is still the pressing issue of the on going battle and the threat these new unit pose. Things get more complicate when the two opposing side try to wipe each other out. When these new unit launch an attack on L-elf predicted location, while at the same time L-elf unleashes his trap throwing the Dorssia army into disarray. This leads to Haruto being separated from the Valvrave, and force Marie to once again pilot it.

Now this reveals the nature of Marie's memory loss, that it wasn't lost Pino consumed it through the testing phase of the Valvrave. That in the end the reason she was drop as a test pilot was her limiter broke. It seems that memories are the richest form of Runes, but the problem lies in the fact that the Valvrave can consume your memories faster than you can make them. This is reflected in the moment that Marie is force to pilot the Valvrave once more. She believes that once everything is finished that she can just make more memories, although things aren't that simple. This also reveals why the unit that was stolen was so powerful because Cain was using the purest form of runes. This also gives some incite into possibly why Haruto is getting worse it could be that his limiter is slowly breaking.

The question remains what happened to Marie was she delivered that final blow did the Valvrave consume all of her memories leaving her comatose or did it devourer her entire being. However on a light note it seems that they succeed on their mission, but the price might have been to high. There is also the fact that they might be able to find friends within Dorssia because it seems that there is a Loyalist faction with the government that doesn't approve of the way things are done. It look like they will be providing them aid in the future. There is also the question of the role that princess will be playing in the future.
